Do people that kill deserve death penalty?

Recently in my country I have seen a lot of news about murders. Whats surprises me the most is that in most of the cases, the involved criminals are kids, or teenagers. And because the laws in my country are kind of "soft" or not strict enough against kids, they just put them in a reformatory and free them a couple of months later.
There was this one special case about a 14 year old, whom with another guy (older) kidnapped a girl(12), raped , and buried her half dead. They found her on a river dead; and when they caught the little kid they said they couldnt do anything to him since he was a little kid..., he even still goes to the school(He was in the same school as the little girl). This makes me so mad and I think that people that kill should receive the same punishment for their bad acts. Even if we are not "god" to choose if a person deserve to die or live, I think that in this cases, where people kill and are not punished enough should get death penalty. It could even make the world a better place.
Anyways leave your thoughts, I 'd like to know about how people think about this.

I think that our world needs more awareness on the dangers of any person can be. People need help in handling thier stress and traumatizing events, and anyone who goes out of control can be really dangerous. I think people need to recognize problems before they start, because most of the killers out there are disturbed, or at least really misguided!

That's a problem too, most killers are disturbed people, etc. But in my country these teenagers are "gangsters" and don't care about anything. They go ariund killing and stealing because they know that the laws is not against them...
But thanks for the respones ^^

Bottom line is...the punishment should fit the crime. However, it never does so that is why crime is out of control in this world and our prisons are jam packed full to over flowing. But instead of making the punishment fit the crime, we just let them all go free cause the prisons don't have room for them to live comfortably and the taxpayers can't afford more taxes to build more jails.
