Well i didnt know about walmart cancelling their layaway until i read this post. But its understandable. I use to do layaways at walmart and kmart when my son was younger but now i havent. that walmart card is why they are doing it. they can get more profit from the card than layaway and they can use the space and layaway personel for other duties in the store. Maybe they should use the people to clean the store more better.+

I was really mad when I heard it. Layaway was sometimes the only option for me as I can't save money up for purchases, so paying a little every week was good for me.

Maybe, when they lose it; they'll reinstate the plan. Or if customers complain, they'll keep the plan.

This is the first I've heard of it. I never thought they'd do away with it. I hope they put this plan back in place. I think it would take customers away. I liked knowing that it was there if I needed it. Now I'm upset. We'll just have to let them know this is not a good thing.

They are doing that because they think they can get more people to get the Wal-mart credit card and then be able to charge massive interest amounts. What they don't realize it that a big percentage of people that shop at wal-mart will not be approved for those cards and then they will find out that they are losing all that business from the layaway.

No because too many people abused it. I know some cheated with black friday sales and tried to put things on layaway a week in advance if they knew it would be on a huge discount on black friday then showed up that day and paid the discount price so they didn't have to do it fairly like everyone else that was waiting in line.
Als I know sometimes stores lost sales because people didn't come back to pay it off and by the time they had to restock it the season for the item was over.
