Personally, I think one reason why people love to read Shakespeare is because his plays have a sense of universality. Whatever is occurring a specific play could happen to anyone and I am pretty certain that there are quite a few people who can relate to a certain character or a certain event. The stories and many of Shakespeare's characters are, I believe, intriguing and complex. Take Hamlet, for instance. The character himself is very complex and could be understand in different ways. When speaking of Hamlet, one question is whether Hamlet is or becomes crazy or isn't at all and is simply pretending. When studying this play, in one of my classes, the students were divided into those who thought Hamlet was crazy and those who thought he wasn't.
