What are the Pros of Cloning?

Making Clones and Genetically-Modified Organisms (GMP) was recently added by the Vatican to the list of sins. I understand that genetically modifying organisms results to better and more productive crops and other organisms. What about cloning? What are it's advantages? Would you want to clone yourself too? Have you seen the movie 'The Island' which starred Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson? It was set in the future where people already cloned themselves for their insurance. For example, when someone gets sick and needs an organ donor, then they have the perfect source for it - their clone. But for them to harvest the organs, of course they have to kill the clone first. We must always remember that only God has the right to create life. And to take it back.
