That is one hard question! I am very self confident and I always attribute that to having a twin sister and being naturally good in school.
I have a twin sister, so no matter what happens I always have a best friend and need nobody else. And I am really good in school without spending hours and hours studying. I've never had bad experiences or bad grades in school.
And (yes, I do have a point) I always like to think it's my attitude that makes me so confident. I just keep telling myself that no matter what I do everything will be fine, because I have a best friend and I am good in school.
So maybe you just need to look at the good things in your life (that are consistent) and be more aware of them. So in difficult situations you can tell yourself 'It doesn't matter I am gonna be fine'.

Once I can figure this out I will surely let you know. I have never been a very self confident person. I don't know why. I should have more self esteem but I am now 40 and lacking in assertiveness and the like.
I am basically a people pleaser by nature. I do wish there was a switch to turn on confidence. I wish you luck and hope you find the answers that you need.
