Good luck charm

Ever seen one of these? Maybe in a Japanese restaurant? It's a ceramic cat figure believed to bring in fortune. You notice how the left paw is curled in as if to say "come, come"? It's calling out and inviting fortune and good luck. Supposedly it should be placed facing the front door. My husband bought one of these when he went to Japan. It was just collecting dust facing no particular direction. I recently brought it out and placed it right in front of our front door. So far I've made $0.84. Yeah!

good luck charm - But not really!
Yes I know what you mean. It's actually a gold colored cat with hands up as if calling someone. I don't only see that in Japanese restaurants but in almost all establishments whose owners believe in good luck charm. Well I found this really ridiculous. How could just this man-made figurine invite good fortune. It must be magical but it is not. It can't even speak and move all by itself. And not just cat, many also believe, fish, elephant and many more are good luck charms. How funny and how ignorant of men to ever believe such a fallacy.

it's called Maneki Neko. the left paw raised is to attract business, and the right to attract money. and different colours each have their different purpose.
