can anyone tell me the best way to meet new friends online?

there must be some "free" chat site online somewhere.im in a position at the moment where i could do with meeting some new friends.i left the city awhile ago and moved to the countryside,big regret.so can anyone out there give me some advice please.ive tried mixing with the locals but its hard work,no disrespect to them but they do come across in conversation like they have never seen behyond there fields.anyway much respect to anyone who can help.thanks....lee!

I found the best way to meet new people on line is playing online games in yahoo! I have been lucky with finding some great people who are now long time online friends. A few I've been friends with for over 8 years. It's fun playing a game and chatting at the same time. A great way to get to know someone. Good luck!

Yes! Just go to yahoo games and make sure you have a yahoo id. If you don't, create one! Pick a game you like or try something new! Asking questions is a good way to befriend someone!!!! Good luck!
