Welcome to mylot. I an american white girl that grew up southern christian and i too have a problem with people putting all muslims into the terrorist box. It has caused many talks with people that i know and can get pretty heated pretty fast. There is an older man that i know they grew up with the teachings of Islam, he has done nothing but serve the USA in WWII and help other people of different color, and faiths. I would love to know more about the Muslim religion.

What is true to the particular isn't true to the universal. Meaning, don't generalize your impressions about Muslims by making those terrorists as your point of reference.

First you say "PS:Whoever doesnt agree with me,ok then". Than you say, "You don't know what you are talking about". What do you mean by "No racial stuff"? Again, I'm confused.

Though I don't believe all Muslims are terrorists, I do believe just about all terrorists today are Muslim. Though you probably believe Christians waged religious wars during the crusades, you are wrong. Muslims waged war against Christians and have been trying to convince the world otherwise ever since. Just as you have probably been taught that there was no Holocaust or perhaps never been taught much about it all. It's the woman of Islam I feel badly for. They have pretty much no rights at all and Muslims try to pretend that they are protecting them. If peaceful Muslims would start rising up for women and children and fight those who terrorize the rest of the world than and only then will I respect it.

I've never heard of any Buddhist terrorists... You are correct in your observation that other religions have reacted violently againt those they consider to be enemies of thier faith. The Jews almost destroyed tehemselves in civil war during the first century, the Crusades during the middle ages saw a lot of blood spilled in the name of Christianity and the war between Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland shows how bloodthirsty people can be when it comes to their religion. That being said, I totally disagree with the notion that Islam is a religion of peace. The Quran states over and over again that it's all right, even a matter of duty, to silence oppressors and infidels. Conversely, Jesus taught over and over again to maintain peace even in the presence of one's enemies. "If a man smite thee round the cheek, offer him the other." "Love those who hate you, bless those who persecute you." "Love the Lord your God with thy whole mind and with thy whole strength...and love thy neighbor as thyself." "You have heard it said, 'Love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy,' but verily I say unto you: love thine enemy..." Show me any verse in the Quran that relays a similar sentiment. It might say in some passing way to put up with your enemies under certain circumstances but it never crosses the line into telling its followers to love their enemies. Love is not high on Allah's list of priorities and where there is no love it is easy to sow and cultivate hate.

Greetings I'm muslim and i wear Hijab and Niqab (head and face covering) Born and rasied in the South. And a Muslim is one who Submits to the will of Allaah and Believes all the Prophets and the books of the true God there no God but He. Any way Ignorance is Bliss and people love Drama there is no such thing as radical Islam, or a Muslim terrorist. they don't fit in the Same sentence. the Media has to put a name to everything to feel better about themselves.

I am opposed to terrorists no matter what their religion. However, you first need to define what a terrorist is. To me a terrorist is someone who hold hostage or kills innocent people to punish someone else. For example, a group hate the US government so they kill any westerner they can get their hands on regardless of who they are. That is an act of terrorism and is wrong. I understand that often people who protest and people who are fighting for their rights in countries where they are persecuted are called terrorists. I think this is a misuse of the term. It is the act that is committed that is a terrorist act for example bombing a night club. Hijacking and blowing up tourist planes are also terrorist acts. I have never heard of a Buddhist attacking and killing people other than themselves. I could be wrong but I have never heard of Buddhists blowing up nightclubs or hijacking planes. Buddhist monks have been know to burn themselves in protest but that is not an act of terrorism. I am not sure about Hindus. I know they can get quite violent sometimes and I am not sure about Christians. There might be terrorists who are Hindu or Christian or Buddhist but they do not appear to go around proclaiming themselves as God's freedom fighters. Well I have not heard them do so anyway. However, fundamental Christians do preach violently and they have a history of persecuting other religions, they also tend to have the backing of the US government. However, in the case of muslims, there are many groups who do kill any westerner they can and claim it is a holy act. As a westerner who has nothing against muslims I have a problem with acts like that. I object to the bombs in bali and their claims that it is some sort of holy war and their hijacking of planes etc. It also seems to me that they tend to lack tolerance of other people's ignorance. An example was the british teacher in africa who was imprisoned over the naming of a teddy bear. Maybe she should have been educated about what not to do in a muslim country but to imprison her and demand her execution just because she did not know that she had offended anyone was to me quite wrong and intolerant. I do not like intolerance from anyone. I also object to the way the Australian government treated a muslim doctor who was working here. It seemed quite clear to me that he was picked on just because he was muslim.

I do agree with you. Not all terrorists are Moslems. I have lots of Moslem friends. They are so good.

Why would muslim do a terrorist act? I do not think that muslims are terrorist, the terrorist are not muslims they simply called terrorist. In my country where muslims are common they are ordinary here where some of them are selling goods, but I do not think that muslims are muslims I think them like everybody else like christians its just the religion but all people are the same.

hi lemmeatem, welcome to mylot. i am muslim too, but all muslim not terrorist. i love peace, and i like looking for friend not muslim. i don't agree with ideology "muslim terrorist" because that ideology is bad and destruction life. can make war. i heat that. i apologize if my opinion make some people angry ! always happy to you !

Good day! I am a Filipino girl and a third of our population in the Philippines are muslims. Currently there is a war going on on the southern part of our archipelago. The muslims started the war because they are fight for an autonomous region. We know that not all muslims take part in that war, in fact, many of them are victims of the radical group.

Dude, WHAT Buddhist, Christian and Hindu terrorists ?!? Have you seen many Buddhists blowing people up lately ? Amputating limbs ? Shouting BEHEAD all who insult Buddhism ? Same for Hindus, and even Christians (although they have had their share in the past) In this year of 2008, can you see ANY religion coming close to Islam, in terms of FEAR, TERROR tactics, VIOLENCE and AGGRESSION? Religion of Peace my A$$. I haven't read the Quran myself, nor will I any time soon, but I know that If there are 5 books in the world, and one of them produces the most violence and hate, then it's NOT my spiritual book of choice.
