Do u think Chinese are poor?

Shanghai - Welcome to visit
China

Yesterday, I read a discussion in a Japanese forum. The title is that lots of Chinese students go to expensive restaurants in Japan, how come? The one who started the discussion left his MSN there. Maybe he needed an explanation. So, I sent an invitation. Later, I talked about how poor did he think Chinese really were with him?"Me: Do u think Chinese are so poor that they can't afford the expensive restaurants? Japanese: I used to think so. Me: U think Chinese don't eat well now? Japanese: of couse not! Me: How poor do u think Chinese really are? U think Chinese don't have cars? Japanese: Having a car is defined as rich in China? Me: Absolutely not. It's all about steps. Eating well is the bottom step. The step after is a good accommodation. The next step is having cars. The step that follows is going anywhere u want..........then, as rich a Bill Gates. .........."So far as I am concerned, lots of people still think Chinese are very poor. An American told me that he found it amazing to see shanghai. It is totally overstated. Also, some Japanese couldn't believe that what they saw in China. In their opinions, everything seems impossible. Why Chinese going to the expensive restaurant is that amazing? Why people are amazing in China? I am kinda confused. How much do u really know? How poor do u think Chinese really are? No offence! Never mind!

I know that China is a huge country. In my mind the US is large, but China is huge. It has many different provences where people may speak different languages and have different customs. I understand that in the cities at least some of the people are wealthy. What about all those miles between the cities. How well off are the farmers and those in the small villages? What about the factory workers who make nearly everything found on American department store shelves? I wrote recently how rich Americans are compared with some other countries. I had in mind those African countries where war and famine has left so many starving. The very next day there was an article about seniors who are going hungry here in the US because of the rising price of food, gasoline, and fuel oil. It made me rethink some of what I had written.

Some are poor and some are don't but In my country some chinese are way too rich and some of them own a large company. In my country chinese are merchants in the past they are hard working men then their hardwork pays them, now they are millionaires. Many chinese men in china are poor because of communist? or it depends on situation, but all people are poor or rich.

communist is just a name! In fact, u won't find so many differencies. It doesn't matter! Some people are poor due to the large population. In some rural areas, for example, some farmers can only afford one child. But they are willing to have more or have a son. So, u know what, if they have one care each meal, what will happen when there are more people in the family! Also, millionaries have nothing to speak of. They don't think they are rich in town. I appreciate your response Have a nice day!

No, they own many restaurants...They also are over many businesses.. I don't think that they are poor.. Not unless they are living in little huts.. But they are normal as I..

Little huts? Hmmm, maybe in some rural areas, the problems still exist. It is not everything though Thanks for your response! Have a nice day!
