Which is best dye that could be used to color hair?

My mom is planning to get her hair dyed for my marriage. But first she wants to try it out once instead of getting it done at that time.
Which is the best one to opt for?

Because once mom colors her hair it might be difficult to change if she's not happy. Go to a wig shop and try on the different shades until she finds the right one, that way she does not have to worry about it.

They have so many good products out there. But I perfer ones without that awful amonia. I use the Natural Match by L'Oreal I beleive. I am not 100% sure if it is by L'Oreal though. But it is called Natural Match. And I have gone from jet black to blond and you don't get the awful smell.
