OK so it looks like we have some Ham Radio operators here on MyLot. What is your QTH? As for me I am in EN93ui ~60SW of Toronto, Ontario, Canada Eh? What Bands do you operate on? What equipment do you use? I can be found on 10M / 6M / 2M / 70cm with a Motorola Syntor X (10&6) Kenwood TR-7400A (2M) and a Radio Shack HTX-404 on 70cm.

Greetings I am not a ham although I have listened to a lot of them through the years on various shortwave radios. I always liked listening to hams talk away, it can be very interesting and lots of fun when you get that far off DX signal and find yourself listening to, say, Australia. I hope all the hams on mylot come out and answer your post! 73's from California

Every Friday night there is a huge world wide net that takes place with Reg VK6BQQ in Jandacot (Perth) West Australia. This net has been going on for over 350 weeks and there are literally check-ins from around the world. http://www.hamtechnet.com/ Back in the late 70's early 80's my father VE3IYA was able to make the DXCC by talking to over 100 confirmed countries mostly on 10M but some 20M and 15M as well. At one point he was even playing with 160M. Now sadly he sold off all his HF stuff but got bitten by the HF bug and is starting to put together an HF station again. He was inactive for maybe 20 years.

Thanks for the link I'll have to check that out on Friday. Good that your father caught the bug again.

Yes being retired he has to keep busy. The statistics would say that once you retire you usually pass on after a year or so. Dad keeps busy and Dad and Mom are still active on the motorcycle at 71 and 66 respectively!
