Do you use Facebook? I must say, I don't really get it. I have received invitations to join so I did, but I really can't find my way around that site. Anyone have any pointers? What do you use Facebook for?

My wife does, I don't. I really can see the allure to it, but it does have some good qualities. If you've moved away from your home town or travel a lot its a great way to keep in touch with people. Its not that hard to navigate through and its pretty fool proof. Just upload some pics of yourself or family in your profile. If you need some more help just ask.

Thanks for the offer, it just seems like there are so many things to do on the internet I am trying to weigh the prospects of this site. Should I add it to my "duties" or is it not worth my time? I am leaning towards not worth my time.

I am a little like you..I dont actually get the meaning of Facebook..I was on mine last night and lol my son `spoke` to me!!I hadnt realised that you were able to message each other in Facebook..then I looked to the bottom right and saw that there was a way of seeing if your `friends` were online!..but I also had a few challenges from some friends and I wasnt too sure what or how to do them lol so I just logged out!!it was taking the easy way out reALLY.

I am a member but I don't like Facebook just as much as I don't like Myspace. I am not one for these kind of social networks. I am a member of Yuwie and am more active there because they pay you to be. Not as active as I would like but I spend more time on there than I ever did Facebook, Myspace and all of the rest of the social networks. Earning from Yuwie is not the only reason I like it better. Yuwie just seems more user friendly. I have already been paid by them once but it does take a while to earn antyhing on there. I am not there for the money though because if I was, I would spend more time there. I would rather write articles and stories and hang around here and at Accentuate than hang around social networks. One thing you can use Facebook for is to promote your writing and other programs you earn money from. :)

facebook is a site where u can make a profile of ur self and add up ur friends on your account. firstly u can communicate with ur frineds on facebook who also have an account. u can also search for ur friends using their search engine (which is actually pretty good, i found nearly 5 friends there with whom i had lost contact with). secondly, there are various applications that u can install to show up in ur profile, applications range from walls (other ppl can write on ur 'wall', basically like leaving a message for u, but it's visible to other ppl as well), the photo application, where u can upload ur photos and albums, simple applications like world map where u can mark the countries that u have visited, lived in or want to visit (such application just customizes the look of ur profile and define ur character) or applications like mindjolt games which allow u play different games and save ur own best scores for every different game that u play. there are a lot more applications available. u can make and join different groups as well for discussions. there is a lot more u can do, just join up and u ll know. u can register to facebook with or without an invite. just go to their site. chao~

I have joined and I have added a few friends. I can't figure out how to accept a friend invitation online without going back to the email I received. Another oddity to me is that I can't figure out how to post info on my page like a comment or such. I can add them from other websites that provide a connection but I can't write in a comment. It is an interesting site but I am rather computer literate and it doesn't seem to be intuitive to me. Maybe I am the only one that finds it strange.

I thought of migrating to Facebook but after giving much thought, I think all social networking sites are more or less the same after all. The only difference is that Facebook is like the 'in thing' nowadays and people jump on the bandwagon. I created a dummy account before just to navigate myself around and get familiar with the site but I dislike it, come to think of it now. It's not as cool like friendster, myspace or multiply. But multiply is a blog networking site like Facebook, whereas myspace and friendster have been like friendly competitors, for all I know. Have a fun time in mylot and welcome.
