what do the Stars mean?

The star is how you have been rated by other users. 10 is the best and it goes down from there. People rate + or - on topics and answers and that makes up your star number. You are at 3 which means some raters are rating you as negative meaning that your responses or topics aren't productive as far as they are concerned. If you mouse over the star, it will say something like "33" meaning you have a ways to go to get to 40 which would put you at a #4 star. Many don't pay any attention to the star numbers and others work very hard to keep their stars at 9 or 10. It's impossible to know who rated you and why so I say just be as productive as you can, answer questions fully, and start topics that haven't been asked a lot and your rating will rise. Also, be sure to rate others! Rating seems to be pretty important around here. Unless something has changed since I left for personal reasons a few months back, that's what the stars are all about. The stars are about your reputation. The number next to your name is about your level of activity. It is taken from a number of things including level of activity, how much your post etc but also how people rate your discussions. You need to have a level of activity of 100 before you get your star and as your reputation increases your stars rating increases. It starts at 0 and is out of 10 so if you have a star of 6 then your reputation is about 60 out of a 100 and a 9 is 90 out of a 100. 10 stars is the highest it goes. If you want a good reputation then make sure you adhere to the guidelines. They are easy to find and you do need to read them more than once to see if there are any changes. If you hold your mouse over it you will see what your current reputation is. Your reputation can go down if people give you are negative rating.

The star means your reputation in here. Everyone can increase it and I found that someone in here can increase it to 8 or 9 from the star numbers that you get now. Just keep post with quality one and descriptive as possible. You will find that your star number is increasing. Hope you will increase it soon. Keep post Happy myLotting...

hello,i think you are a great woman.i have be in mylot 2 weeks.but now i didn't get any star.and i am trying my best to do it .beacause i am a college student now,so i do not have so much time to do it.

I didn't know what the star symbolizes. I just notice that I already have a yellow star beside my name when I get about 120 post I think. I guess, that's how active you are in participating the discussion here.

Wow, you have been busy if you are still New, and have (252) next to your name already. That is actually probably more than on average I post back too. Hoping your Earnings on here are decent as well. As you are probably aware by now, a Star is important as that refers back to your Rating and how well people like you here, and feel your Responses and New discussions are important to them as well. The highest you have have is a "10". Hope this helps.

the same type of question. i will ask on my discussion.you can check this out.the star shows the quality of your discussion.the making rating on star can be 10.for example you will 6 on your star.it will tell that 60/100 post of your are quality. the star also shows that how other peoples are rated you on there responses on other discussion.which is known as post. this will mainly shows quality of your post .if you post more quality responses,then your rating will also be increase.so,keep mylotting.

I am glad I found this topic I just got my star a few minutes ago and was wondering what it meant. I wonder if rating posts positive or negative has any effect on earnings. Anyways I just got my star and it started out as a 6. I didn't think it would start out that high as I haven't been extremely active everyday just a bunch a few random days LOL. I try to make long responses instead of just quick short ones so maybe that helps get more positive ratings. Great topic and good job being so active Ive been here over 3 weeks and only just now hitting 100 :)
