I went to my grandpa's place last to last month for my cousin's marriage. I had to share the room with my parents and some aunt's as well cause the house was full in fact over flowing with guests! That was the night of a hell... My dad snores like a hippopotamus!!! lol very loudly!! I tried to sleep with it but it was just not possible. To stop him from snoring I got up and closed his nose for a min. as it was a big problem cause his mouth as open already.. lol I thought this would stop him from snoring for the rest of the night but woah.. right after that there came the father of all snores..LOL!! Almost all of my aunts sleeping on the floor got up cause of him. But at last nothing could be done and we spent a sleepless night that day. No doubt my mom kicked him out of the room next day & made him sleep out side the house...lol we made his bed outside... as it wasn't a big deal as the due to the marriage season in our house almost all the husbands slept outside only due to the lack or rooms for every couple (we made our room all for ladies -men not allowed) lol!!

My husband only snores when he is very tired from the days work which is not often. But when he does snore, I would say SHHHHHH!!!! loudly. Normally he will stop and turn to the other side. But if he still snores, I would shake his pillow and this will just do the trik, he stops snoring and I continue my sleep.

heheheh.......I forgot to tell you this incident when I was in my teen years. I slept over at my grandma's house. Both my grandparents are snorers and I had a hard time sleeping though the room was comfy with air condition. My grandma snored like a choo choo train that night. I was sleeping on a mattress at the corner but my leg was long enough to reach her pillow. So when she snores, I extended my leg and kick her pillow and quickly pretend to go back to sleep. LOL!!!! She sat up on the bed and looked around the room and said "whose there?". I was chuckling away under the blanket....ehhehe!!! I still remember this incident till today and laughed whenever I think of it. Until today my grandma does not know I am the one who kicked her pillow....and nope she does not use the computer or myLot so she will never find out........

I tried it once, but it was of no avail. It was Four of us on a holiday sharing a room. All three of them were snoring, and was it loud. It was like experincing the sound from a home theatre. I tried nudging them, even put on the fan to disturb them. I could get one at a time to stop, but it was for a brief period of time. Then it would start all over again. We did all have a good laugh at it the next morning, of course at the expense of my sleep.

It is really difficult to sleep, when someone nearby snores non-stop. You cannot do anything about it. Even if you wake the fellow, once he go to sleep again, he will start snoring again. Problem arises only, when you yourself are awake, if you fall asleep yourself before him, then you can a good sleep.

My husband snores horribly and I have done everything from moving him over to waking him up..He really needs help, I do believe he has sleep apnea, (sp?) and needs medical attention, but he won't get it..

Good I did not have to share the same room with anyone around snoring. I think I would just get up and go to another room. If not to sleep atleast sit whole night at least. In my house I make sure my guests sleep in the other bedroom so I dont have to hear their snores.
