I would love to go to Cape Town, Vancouver, Kyoto, Rio and Boston. So far my favorite cities are Sydney, San Francisco, Dubrovnik, Lisbon and Salzburg. I enjoy seeing historical or attractive architecture and see superb views. It is wonderful when a city has a stunning location. Sydney has the white sails of the opera house and a gray harbor bridge. North and south of its harbors are very pretty beaches.

Well obviously Wellington, the capital of New Zealand that would be a definite for me when I go there, Stockholm, Dublin, Paris and Toronto. I am not sure I will be able to get to visit all of those places in my lifetime because of the time, expense etc but my heart is set on New Zealand and Sweden as you know so I think they will be the first two cities I will visit on my life and certainly Southern Ireland is more closer to home and more reachable and dooable as it were! Rio looks beautiful when you watch James Bond's Moonraker which is set in Rio!

You will love it in Wellington and it has a very pretty setting. Christchurch is a charming city with an old tram and a quaint feel to it. Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand. The population of the whole of New Zealand is less than 4 million and the scenery is superb. I know that you will love it there. Stockholm is a really beautiful city with many old buildings. Paris is a very popular city and it is enjoyable to go there and over to Ireland for a weekend or a week. I would love to go to Toronto. I must watch Moon Raker then because it is set in Rio. I know my friend Wolfie that air fares are expensive right now.

I would love to go to Tokyo, Bejing, Syndney, Seattle and Berlin. I have been to New York, London, Paris, Dublin and Toronto and San Francisco, Chicago Washington and LA. I think Chicago is my favorite because ti really has great restaurants. Washington DC is beautiful, I live near there. In terms of the beauty of the buildings I think it is the winner. The architecture in Europe is really great though.

I would love to go to Washington DC and see New York and Boston on that same trip. Chicago sounds like enjoyable destination. I would love to go to Tokyo but I think I would prefer Kyoto. It would be amazing to go to Beijing and take a day trip to see the Great Wall. I know people that really loved visiting Berlin.

I like cities that are unusual in character or design or have a sight to see that is something you just know you want to see for yourself rather than just take other people's word for it!
So with this in mind my top 5 would be Venice, Pisa, San Fran, Marrakech and also Washington. Not in that order for definite but there are high on my lists! x

Hi, I would like to visit Rome, Athens, Beijing, Xian and Cairo. Like you, I enjoy seeing historical sites or ancient ruins.
In Rome and Athens, I'd see the ancient ruins of past civilisations. In Beijing, there would be the Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Great Wall, while in Xian, the Terracotta Warriors. And in Cairo, I would see the sphinx and pyramids.

Thanks for your excellent response. My older son would love it if I took him to Cairo because he is so fascinated by Egyptian history. I have flown over the pyramids. Wow! I have been to Athens and it was amazing to see the Acropolis. I would be so interested in seeing Beijing and taking a day trip from there to the Great Wall of China. It would be fascinating to see the Terracotta Warriors.
