going under the knife just to make themselves more beautiful, more sexy is such a big thing these days. it doesn't matter what it costs or how painful it is, the only important thing is the end product. I can't imagine myself going through this. The only thing i hate about my appearance is my teeth...now if i have the money, i would certainly replace all of them. For that, i wouldn't care how much it costs and won't even mind the pain at all as long as my teeth are perfect.:) haha...
would you consider plastic surgery? Or would you rather stay as you are?
your views will be very much appreciated...
happy mylotting!

The problem is a lot of people in this world feel down on themselves because someone in their life has pointed out something about them that they themselves thought looked bad. This makes it worse since people will tend to focus on that area their entire life. I personally think that I would get plastic surgery done. Not that I really feel I need it but because I want it. The pain is only temporary... but the uneasiness and self consciousness will go on till you die if you never get the work done... right? so you are gaining more than you are loosing.

but if you only change how you feel/ your outlook then you would not require surgery would you?

the thing is some people really aren't that insecure... however like myself I would love to get certain things altered just so I can stop looking at them and thinking -- why can't I fix this lol.

never - true beauty comes from within. As many people I have known say what is pretty on the outside can be truly nasty on the inside.
I don;t measure beauty by how someone looks but by who they are

i agree with you witchy willow and i also think when God created us He knew exactly He was doing, besides we cannot all be the same everyone of us is created in their own unique physic, character , and behaviour, and no i cannot imagine all the women looking like barbie dolls i think people who go for plastic sugery are not content with their selves and i mean psychologicaly, every human being has a flaw Maryln Munroe had was a hottie and had 12 toes, Michael Jackson on the other hand was quite handsome before until he prescribed to sugeries and look where it got him

beauty means different things to different people.
Sadly society seems to place a higher value on being "pretty" than contributing great things.

I don't think I would - no matter how safe and good the plastic surgeons are, I'm still not convinced. I would be worried that something would go wrong, and cannot be corrected.
Moreover, I am happy with how I look - enhancements can be done with cosmetics and makeup, without going under the knife!

I'm not so silly to think that surgery to correct those bits of me that need attention would be successful. I believe that my skin type would not suit this sort of procedure...I have very little elasticity in my skin, now that I'm older, even my muscles are stretched. If you stretch things, the elasticity in you lets your skin and muscles recover...my recovery rate following pregnancy was poor, even though I was quite young. I have gained weight over the years and I worry that even if I was able to loose the weight, my skin would be left hanging.
But, like you, I would love to have nicer teeth and if I had the money I would fix them in a flash...

Hello there chai.
I don't like to experience pain since I have enough, so I'd rather stay the way I am. Anyways, I'm not that ugly, just an average. I'm afraid of knives and stitchings, and I don't have enough money for that.Have a nice day!

If I had the money for plastic surgery, I'd get my nose fixed.. I've always told everybody how I hate my big nose. They say it isn't but I don't listen to them anyway. Other than that, I'd get some fat shaved off of my hips so I can be slim again...

I do admit that the thought has been entertained in my mind about plastic surgery or other types of surgery to help me look better. I just don't have the money that all of these celebrities have. At the drop of a hat they can go to a surgeon.
There have been some horror stories concerning plastic surgery. Some people have come out of them with negative results. You have to be careful and do your research before making an educated decision about surgery. My husband tells me that I don't need surgery but as a woman I think that I do.

I had brain surgury on monday and I'm not feeling my best mostly in the morning, I find myself crying and feel like a troll with a mis-shaped head.I guess I'm looking for someone to maybe cut what's left of my hair and give me alittle pick up,My family has been great, supportive and I do believe I'll be ok someday.I don't think I need plastic surgery to fix what's left, just some hope.

People who turn to surgery are the one who has problems dealing with their own appearances. Our society are bad enough to judge based on looks alone. I don't want to think how it does hurts to be ridiculed and laughs because you got a big nose, bad teeth, fat body and so on. People with this deficiencies has mental breakdown. And I cannot blame them in resorting to surgery. It gives them a high value of themselves and give their self respect back.
Personally, i will not go through with it. Not because i am perfect already, infact i have a lot of flaws. And yes i know how it hurts to get ridiculed infront of everyone. I was just a child back then. And it makes me stay away from the crowd, realizing that, i made little friends only. I was afraid to get hurt, for them to laughs at me, to be ridiculed at, to hear them say im ugly.
I got through past it. I am now grown up and have a child of my own. Although i know, those fears when i was a child was just pure childish born out of insecurities because i hear my own mother told her friends i am ugly. I never understand why she said that. When i started dating, my trust build up and i know i was not that bad looking. But what about those people who never go through past their flaws and accept that they are not ugly, and it doesn't matter what everyone thinks. It becomes an obsession for some. And I don't blame them if they want something done on their looks.
If i have money, i certainly get a braces for my teeth. I got a gap front tooth. Some thinks its cute. I personally thinks its er bad. LOL Oh well, as long as my bf thinks its cute, that's just fine. But i always love to see people who got lovely teeth in those toothpaste commercial. :P

I certainly would like to check it. Thank you for suggesting it. I have given up when one dentist told me it will take years since i need to have a retainer around my gums to get a good structure, and it's quite expensive back then. I have recently watch in one of the local show, where they have invited this woman who got gap toothed teeth, and i need to find that dentist. He made her teeth so beautiful!

i have felt the same way before, back when i was a teenager I have developed an inferiority complex which none of my family knew about...it's really hard, but as we mature, life is more kinder, i still feel inferior sometimes but i've learned long ago no matter how you look if you feel sexy, you will project it, if you feel beautiful it will certainly show.
but i still want a full dental reconstruction...hehe..but it can wait, i'll do it someday. oh, did you know that you can close teeth gaps now without surgery and no braces? ask or scout for dental clinics that provide these services, i think it's affordable too.

It may be true that we are made because a higher power wanted us to be this way however if we fail to keep up with our appearances are we doing anything different from changing them?

really? wow!!! how young are they? I hope not teenagers...i saw a TV show once regarding plastic surgery in LA and they do cosmetic surgery on teenage girls well, they want bigger boobies. I was surprised to see 17 or 18 year old girls considering this option at a very early age. Maybe it's a thing there...i don't know.

I have to say I am very blessed. Not because I am very pretty or have a good figure. I feel very blessed because I love the way I look. There is nothing about me that makes me want to go under the knife for. I've got under the knife but it was for medical reasons. The surgery left a scar on my face but it has faded with time. I can't imagine anything that might make me go for surgical enhancement. I'm really contented with the way I look. Cheers ;)

Plastic surgery is not my cup of tea. Some surgeries screw up and it just makes the persons appearance look worst. Aside from that i am contented with my looks. God made me this way and i accept it. It was not anyones right to change something that was given to them by god. Except if you really need a surgery because of a bad accident.
But most people did some surgery even if they look good already. They just did it because they are too vain. Looks fade so no matter how much you try to keep yourself staying young and beautiful you cant stop yourself from aging. So instead of wasting my money over plastic surgery. I would rather just donate some of my money to those people who are in need. A lot of people are starving nowadays. If all of us share our blessings to others, imagine how many people are feed and save.

Hmm, I used to think, no way. But now after giving birth I have changed my mind. Haha! I need a little nip and tuck around the tummy area. I always kid my husband about getting it done if we ever had the disposable income. But seriously, if I could get away with it, I'd probably get my nose done. It's not really flat, just needs a little tapering on the sides. I don't have anything against those who get plastic surgery as long as they don't go overboard with it that it makes them look like totally different from their former selves. I've even read of one woman who got obsessed with having cosmetic surgery. She always found something in her body to re-do. She had her nose, lips, cheeks and forehead done as well as some parts of her body too.
