I put my house up on the market in june and it still has not sold. This has been such a nightmare. Our real estate agent is soooo lazy. I keep catching her in lies. yet if I fire her we will owe her re-comp because it has been longer than 90 days. We have already moved to another state and have had no solid bites yet. I have lowered the price to under the value and the house has upgrades like new wood floors and new cobblestone style ceramic tile throughout kitchen and dining room. One lady even told the real estate lady that she wanted the house for the same price we paid for it. I will never buy a house again until I retire.

I am getting really discouraged. The market seems so slow right now.

yes i had to sale my house in FortWayne,Indiana about 16 years ago because a neighbor got mad at my ex-husband and tried to set our house on fire with us and our kids inside. We had just put the 3 kids to bed upstairs when we smelled the gasoline and had to get our kids out of the house and call the fire department. The guy had dumped gasoline all around our house and was going to set our house on fire.Thats when i decided to get my family out of this state and we sold our house and moved to Florida.

Thank you for the helpful advise. Why do you not believe in staging?

I never had to, but it took my friend a few good months to sell her old house. It had some really had problems and people were turned off because of it.

We've sold a house 3 times, and a lot of the success is in the way the housing market is going at the time. We sold our 1st house in 1981 during a housing boom. It was kind of a crummy little house, and we had only had it 5 years, but it sold almost as soon as it was on the market, and we profitted $13,000.
We sold our 2nd house in 2002 after living there 20 years. It sold the 1st week for the exact price we were asking.
We are just in the process of selling our 3rd house. It was a wonderful house, but it took us 5 months because the housing market is so depressed right now. In spite of numerous upgrades, we don't stand to make any profit on it because we had to keep reducing the price to get it sold. We consider ourselves lucky it sold at all.

Yes! We sold in Southern California. We got lucky, it took us 6 weeks. Others in our area have been up over a year.

i did when i decided to go with my ex-husband to his job assignment 9 years ago. it wasn't hard to sell coz we lowered the price way down just so we can dispose it easily (time was short). well, i guess that was a good thing since it's one less item to resolve when i filed for divorce.

Yes, I have sold many houses of mine. If you price it correctly, it will sell within 90 days or less any time of the year, any where. Have a CMA done by a realtor, it's free. Good luck.
