do you ever get so caught up in the craft you are doing that you forget to eat?

That used to happen all the time to me! It happened so often that DH doesn't allow me to start crafting until after we've eaten... I still get so caught up in what I'm doing that I'll not drink the cup of coffee that DH brings in for me. He'll come into my workroom and take away the cold cup of coffee and brew another cup for me...usually I'll take a sip when he brings it, set it down and forget about it. Then I sneak it into bathroom and pout it down the sink so he doesn't see I wasted another cup...lol

I used to do alot of charting for cross stitch and I'd get so wrapped up in it that it would be like 7-8 hours later when I'd get up to go to the bathroom that I'd be all lightheaded from not eating. I'd usually end up half sick too b/c I'm diabetic. These days I try to keep a closer eye on it so it doesn't happen anymore. [b]~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**[/b]

I don't often get caught up in crafts so that I don't eat, but I tend to nibble on things while I'm crafting and not realize how much I've nibbled! It would be far better to forget to eat.

I sure have. I can't always say I've done it a lot, but I have done it.

I will get caught up in crafts as well and forget to eat. Unfortunately, the same thing happens when I am on the computer, playing video games or reading. I guess I just get too into something and I forget about everything else. Now, why can't it be the same thing with work?

that has happened to me a few times. to me it's a good feeling being all caught up in what you're doing, and when you finally snap out of it and remember that you have to eat you feel good about what it is you've accomplished so far. talking about it puts me in the mood to do something crafty right now. . .

Not when doing crafts but when I was working on research for my studying then I would become so engrossed in what I was doing, I didn't notice the time or the fact that I hadn't eaten anything, I had missed dinner and it was getting too late to eat anything before bed, but I just couldn't stop what I was doing, to do that would break my concentration, so I would continue, everything else would be totally forgotten, luckily I only have to worry about myself! But it is very easy to do!

LOL yea I've done that many times...doesnt matter if I'm sewing or drawing etc etc when I get caught up in one of my hobbies i tend to lose time like crazy LOL

I have done this many times!! I just love sewing now and I have finally gotten my sewing machine to actually work right and I do not want too stop!!!!

I do that a lot when I'm scrapbooking, but hey, it's great for the diet lol. I have several scrapbooks I need to get busy on for Christmas, and I have a scrapbook retreat coming up, a whole weekend of just relaxing and scrapbooking. 40 days til I'm on the road.....but who's counting? lol

Hi cher913. Well, it sounds like you really get intrenched in your projects. Good for you. I can understand how time just passes when a person is really involved in doing something they like to do. I have been so involved in a knitting project that I forget to eat. Also, I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I have gotten so involved in writing projects over the internet that I forget to eat.

Im afraid to say that you are not the only culprit here Cher,if I have my head stuck into some sewing then I lose time easily,and sometimes its on purpose!Ilove my sewing and can get so engrossed in it,to the point when I can resent it if someone interrupts me!I have been known to ignore the telephone before now lol..but im sure there are many of us the same!
