Hey everyone.
I don't take notes much. I will just listen to what the staffs say. If I start taking notes, I will just concentrate on filling my page with what the teachers say. I will not understand properly. Hehe. This is in my school days.
In my college days, I don't do both. I won't listen and I won't take notes also. Hehe. I will be just playing something by scribbling in the notes. For 2 years I used a single note for all the subject. Hehe.

It really depends on the class. Some classes put the notes online so taking notes in those classes is pretty pointless in my opinion. Sometimes, it's hard to take notes because some teachers like to throw in a lot of random information that is hard to summarize or put into note form. I just do whatever I think I should do. Some classes I feel are definitely more important than other classes so I tend to try and take more notes for those classes than I do others.

Yes, I take notes. They are important guides for me; it helps me remember what the teacher was talking about. Many times my teachers will talk about things not available in the textbook and I make a point to write them down. Later, when I am looking at my notes, I can see a note that I took and remember most of what the teacher had to say about it, what was important about it, and etc. That's the biggest thing for me, remembering specific comments or quotes or information not readily available in the course material, or getting something specific from the teacher!

Yes, I used to do this back in middle and high school. I also have done so in College. It is very easy to do this. It makes you understand the subject much clearer. It helped me so much in class, especially when it was time to take a quiz or a test.

I used to take notes when I was in high school, but I found that I was like you, that I remembered better when I listened to the subject. I found if I took notes, I had to write almost everything and I could not write fast enough. then I could not read what was said because I wrote so fast and it was harder for me. However, when I listened and I saw the demonstrations or examples, it became clearer to me and then I just had to use the textbook for reference.
And by the way, I found textbooks hard, because I had to go over them again as I have mainly an audio and visual but not a word memory.

I do take notes during class. Sometimes my teacher will give information that not stated in the book. I will listen and take notes at the class. I take notes when I think it is important. I only write the important notes. i will ask question if I don't understand. I think taking notes and listening in class is important. Especially if the subject don't have book about it.

I will takes notes during class because I am a very forgetful person. Actually when we take note during class we can use it when we can do revision without asking the teacher again and again. When I started taking note that I found that I need note to help me in studying. Usually if I do not takes the note down in the class I will keep chatting with my friend without listening to my teacher and this do not show respect to my teacher so she had scolded me for that. For me I can study on myown because it really take many of my time.

i agree that writing down formulae for the sake of practice is fine.. but what about advanced subjects.. like really technical subjects like antennas, communication etc...
most of the time we refer standard textbooks for studying them... even our lecturers know that but stil they ask us to write notes...
whats the point in writing notes when u r not going to refer to it...
unfortunately our education system is stil in the same state where they think writing notes is equivalent to studying... the thicker your notebook is.. the more knowledge u possess.. supposedly...

I do agree with you.And we can't score much if we just depend on the notes. Its better to read with the books itself. Lol. Happy to have your response. Happy mylotting.

exactly.. gone r the days when we used to write down everything told by the teachers... atleast u use one book for 2years.. Some of my friends don't even care to bring even that single book...
But seriously do u think writing notes helps us in any major way??
One may say that " writing once is equal to reading it 10 times"
But does it really work that way?? i don't think so!!

During my school days yes I take notes during class. Taking notes is essential in studying and it helps me to remember what has been discussed in class, especially if you have different subjects to learn. Most topics are sometimes cannot be found in your assigned book/s and it depends on how resourceful your teacher/professor is. I would even draw some visual aids if in case the handout/s from the teacher/professor cannot be xeroxed and distributed.

I've always prided myself on being a good student. Part of that involves taking notes during class. I'm very detailed when it comes to jotting down notes. Not only do I copy everything written on the board, I tend to jot down almost everything the professor says as long as I can keep up. I write pretty fast as well which helps me during lectures, but sometimes my hands tire out then my handwriting becomes really ugly and illegible.

During the high school, yes as we were forced to take notes. During the college years, no.
Usually there will be plenty of stuff on my notes, but i didn't use them even though some of the stuffs are useful to me.

Yes, I do. When I was in elementary I always take notes. Come high school and college days, I take notes only when I'm in the mood. Haha. When it's time to study for an exam I'd borrow my classmates' notes and have them photocopied. Bad. Sadly, it has it's disadvantages too. One instance, my teacher gave a bonus for anyone who copied everything she lectured about. Well, I didn't get one. I learned my lesson then. ^^

Hehe. Finally I saw someone like me. Hehe. Happy about that. If my staffs give points like that, only 2 persons in our class will get that. They both are very good students. By default they will get full marks. So it doesn't matter if they give or not. Lol. Hehe. Happy to have your response. Happy mylotting.
