That will be interesting! I just looked at some of the writing and thought "there is no way I could learn that!" Good luck!

I agree. I finally finished reading the Bible this year from beginning to end. I had tried before but just couldn't do it. This time was different - the timing was just right. The fascinating thing was, every once in a while things in my life would go right along with what I had just been reading. Since finishing on August 13th, I haven't read it very much at all and my life definitely seems like something is missing. I am going to get started back immediately!

It is definitely not just another book on the shelf! I have finally read through the entire Bible and I plan on doing it again & again & again just to make sure I don't miss anything!

I read my bible sometimes, especially when I'm in need of guidance. I'm trying to make it a habit to read it more often though.

I read my Bible very often but I read it a little different than most people do. I don't even try to figure out what it is saying. I just read it and try to remember what I read and where I read it at. That way I can use the Bible to verify things I see and hear. God can easily show us things concerning mankind and this world and somewhere in the bible there is something that will confirm what He is showing us. Very often it will explain the situation where we can understand it better.
When I first came to God I got my nose in the Bible and kept it there trying to figure out what it was saying and I learned very quickly that is not the way it's to be done. The Bible is God's teaching tool not man's. Where man ever got the idea he was supposed to get up in a church, read a few verses from the Bible and then spend at least an hour trying to explain what it means is way beyond my understanding. God is the only one that can give you the true meaning of a lot of the Bible. Some of it is simple and means exactly what it says but there is a lot of it that has covered meanings. If man tries to uncover these hidden meanings without God's help all he will do is deceive himself and it will take him off out somewhere he doesn't need to be. "Lean not on your own understanding". Proverbs 3, 5&6.

Before, yes, but now that I am working here in the middle east where reading the Holy Bible is not allowed. I miss going to church and participate.

I try to read it at least once a week. No one I know reads it so it's kinda cool to see that you all do :)
I am about 1/3 way through the Old Testament. There are some really crazy stories in here! The stuf about King David and his family is almost like a movie you'd see in Hollywood with all the wife stealing, incest, wars, etc.

Yes I do read the Bible. Reading it makes me feel good specially if Im down. Im sure you know what I mean. Bible reading is the best way to communicate with Him and feel his presence at the same time. Well for some it may sounds impossible but for those who strongly believe that He's alive and is with us...its possible, that's what faith is, believing for something that is unseen. Reading the Bible helps me to release the uneasiness that I feel within my mind, heart and soul. Sometimes I even cry while reading it. Through reading His words, questions are being answered to me that no other man can best explain it to me.
