Can you do homework and listen to music?

Do you think that you can give your homework you 100% attention while you're listening to music?
If you listen to music, what kind of music do you listen to while you're doing your homework?
Do you find that you end up singing along to it instead of paying attention to your work?

It depends on what type of homework I am doing. If it's something I really need to concentrate on, I can't listen to any of my favorite songs because I'll loose focus. If there is some soft music playing I can drown it out if need be but again, it just depends on what type of work I'm doing.

yeah! i love listening to music when i'm doing my homework or studying for an exam. it makes me feel relaxed and it helps me do what i'm doing better.

Absolutely! In fact, for me personally, I would rather have music playing while I am doing homework or studying. It's something that actually helps me concentrate on what I am doing and get into my homeword, or studying. I do sometimes pay attention to the music, but the breaks in-between the work help me concentrate more when I am going to do the work itself.

i can do homework and listen to music, but i can't study and listen to music at the same time when i'm studying my major subject.

For me, it depends on the subject of homework and genre of music. I can do homework for any class listening to techno, classical, or anything lacking vocals. If it has vocals in it, especially rap, I get confused writing words :P. I can do math with vocals though, not a problem. I do not normally listen to music with homework but if I have the option, I like to talk to friends who are also doing it, on the computer or phone, or just in complete silence.

Hmm, I usually do listen to music while doing my homework. Music keeps me company:D. But I dont really give 100%. I get distracted too much by the lyrics and sometimes write the wrong thing on my homework, which is kinda funny sometimes. But yeah sometimes when im doing something like important homework i usually play music but pause it every now and then so i know im on the right track.

I am out of school now, but I used to always do my homework with music on. Usually rock or pop music. Sometimes I would get distracted, but could usually get back on track really quickly. If I was studying really hard for a test, then I might want silence, but otherwise, I'd have music on.
