You think you've had the worst day at work till you read this...

One of the cops who guards the former Prime Minister Tony Blair recently went to relieve herself at a nearby Starbucks while she was on duty outside the former PM's home.
She left her loaded semi-automatic Glock 17 pistol on the loo floor and bought a coffee on the way out forgetting about the gun.
The gun was found by a shocked member of the public who alerted the staff who in turn alerted the police.
On her return to the scene when the officer remembered, she found armed police officers at the venue and she was consequently suspended.
It was all over the news the next day..
Now, I have had some bad days at work but this I think is that sort of ' bad day at work' that you'd think over and regret for a long time!
What has been your worst day at work and why? Don't you think this makes it a bit better in comparison? or is it nothing compared to yours? What do you think of the above?

Man, that's terrible. I think she should win the "Bad Day At Work" award. That's worse than getting fired on your day off....or is it?

Yup, think it's worse than that. Did that make it to the national news, in newspapers and online?!

I've had my bad days at work but none of them went to public at all
I think it's kind of funny experience actually although she looked careless and probably got yelled at for it

I have had bad days at work but there is this one that i just can't forget. Maybe because i was humiliated infront of the person who accused me of negligence on my job. I was reprimanded by our superior without even asking me why or what happened. She didn't even asked me for my side of the story. But the worse part of that is i wasn't suspended but me and my companions on that section were not given any tasks for the next months that followed. It was so frustrating that a small honest mistake could affect many people. Now my new boss assigned me to a much better section at the office and i have been there for years now.I think my bad day doesn't compare to hers because she got suspended.I just hope that her suspension isn't that long and that she'll be reporting for duty again soon.

Good for you
I just hope that her suspension isn't that long and that she'll be reporting for duty again soon.
There's the issue of public safety so it may take a while.. did feel sorry for her though!

I don't feel sorry for this woman. She is an armed guard trusted with a semi-automatic Glock! As a veteran of the US Army, I have to imagine the stupidity of someone who can't account for the whereabouts of their weapon. She should not be trusted with a weapon of any sort. If she's a mother,or a scatterbrain, or whatever, I certainly don't feel sorry for her. There are plenty of mothers in combat right now, and I can guarantee you that they know exactly where their weapon is at ALL times. That is the most important thing there is. It would have been better if she had held onto her weapon and peed her pants, since;obviously, she can't do both.

You do raise a number of good points from your point of view...and I guess that's the way the disciplinary body will look at it. I am not a copper so just looked at this as another human being

Thank you for your comment Marina. I read the story on the link you gave. Thank you for dispelling those of little faith that the story was real. LOL. However, I read that she was frantically looking for it for one hour. Wow! Now...I may not be the brightest person in the world, but how many steps did she have to retrace to figure out she put it on the floor when she pulled down her pants to use the restroom? Sounds more like she was enjoying her coffee and having a Starbucks moment and daydreaming about goodness knows what..then thought,"holy cow!,where in the blazes is my glock 17? hmmm, is that why my pants seem lighter? I thought I felt different. Now, if I was a glock 17...where would I be...hmmmm...did I have it on this morning? Did I leave it at home? Is it under the car seat? Is it at Mr. Blair's house? DOH!It must be at Starbucks!!!"Seriously, you have to be a moron to feel sorry for this person. She's supposed to guard Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair, and possible other VIPS. I'm sure they all felt very safe with her watching their back. All you Mylotters who are feeling sympathy for this pathetic excuse for a security guard, think about how you would feel if you were a head of state and hired someone to guard you and ensure your safety, and this happens? It's a threat to national safety.

Whoa!!! Just suspended? That could have caused a major incidence.... First of all if you don't remember your Glock, you should NOT BE ALLOWED TO CARRY IT!!!!!! Let alone what was it doing on the counter!!??? Too many wrongs to list in this scenerio. That is a MAJOR bad day for sure!

Yup, sure is...FYI, she forgot it in the toilet, she'd really have to be a nutter to forget it on the counter now, eh?!

This is very unfortunate for the officer. I am at a new job at this moment but at my former job my bad day was when the CEO frame me and persuade my boss to fired me. After working and giving them my all she did this to me. It was sad for me but I have learn and move on. I would not compared myself with this lady, no one know what she was going through at the moment. This was an unfortunate situation that she found herself in. I hope she learn from this experience.

I have never heard of that before... and it really sucks for that chick cop LOL!! It must have been humiliating (probably...) for her and really embarrassing to make such a mistake as a cop -_-;;
I had some bad days at work too, but I guess the bad days I had is really nothing compared to her bad day at work, and she's consequently suspended... I think it is worse than just getting fired for one day, as others are stating. My bad days at work is pretty much me getting pushed around or the managers just yelling at me just because I made some slight mistakes and that sort of thing... (and yes I wanted them OUT because sometimes their performances were crappier than mine really)
yeah, that's my little short story :p

Yes, it must've been pretty embarassing for her having it splashed all over the news especially being a former PMs guard...
Managers are the worst, they can get away with murder..and it's often 'Do as I say and not as I do' coz they get away with a lot..I have seen it happen

I have left my handbag in the loo before.
I had just gotten off a flight into Gatwick and took the kids to the nearest loo. After answering nature's call I made sure the kids had their trolley bags and I had my rucksack so we set off on the 10 minute trek to passport control - where I realise I didn't have any passports - or my bag.
We had to walk all the way back to get it - not easy when all the escalators are going the wrong way.
But luckily, the bag was still there and so was everything in it - and nobody had thought it was a bomb!
What a wally I was, but at least I didn't lose my job over it!

I hope everything will be ok for u.
On the other hand, tomorrow is another day for me.
