Well I have returned from dads Dr. appointment.
The urine lab work showed very high levels of boold as expected.
Now the issue is dad never says when he is in pain etc.
So we are not positive if there is pain.
I hear him sounding like he is in pain when he goes.
So anyhow his family Dr. feels it may be cancer of the bladder.
So I have set up an appointment with a urologist for Monday morning.
They will do a scope thimng into his urethea.
OWWWW!
Then they will know what is wrong or has to be done.
But cancer is fearted.
The Dr. states if so they will use a tube deal with insturments on the end to either burn or cut it away.
Thanks all for your concern.
Gotta go do more myLotting now.
You all mean so much to me during these trying times. Thanks bunches.

he stated if it is cancer it is not the life threatening
kind in the bladder. They can remove it very easily they stated.
So I am not all that concerned or scared for dad.

i know someone who has been in pain and the dr predicts it is cancer too
but she goes to another dr to get second opinion and after the biopsy they know it isn't
I am hoping this is also the case in regards to your dad

I didn't want to say anything earlier but cancer came to my mind also. I'm not a doctor though so will keep a positive mind and pray all will be ok. Hang in there friend.
Something just came to my mind - you know we joke around alot here on myLot and often things are light and airy but I would like to take this moment to tell you I admire you greatly. It takes a good man to care for his father the way you do and I am proud to have you as a friend even if just here at myLot.

We all need a little pat on the back from time to time and when there is a lot of 'junk' going on I think that's when it's needed the most.

Hello Grandpa Bob. I am so sorry to hear the not-so-good news about your dad. But anyway, I wish him to get through all of the check-ups during the further medical examinations. All the best to you and your father. Good day.

I will hope and pray for the best for your Dad, Grandpa Bob. Bless his heart. My Mom, who is 79, fell at the beauty salon today. Something in her foot may be broken, again. She has osteoporosis, so when she breaks a bone, they don't heal very fast. She has an appointment in the morning, so we'll see.
Hugs to you and your Dad.

That is pretty scary Grandpa Bob. I hope that the result wouldn't give the result of cancer. I hope it is just a mild malady. I pray for your father the strength, temperance & courage to weather such trial if ever the result would be the opposite. I pray also for your family because it would certainly be hard for you and your family also. God bless and more power!

Oh Grandpa Bob, I'm so very sorry to hear this. I'm still holding out hope that it isn't cancer. We both know how devastating a disease it is. Your poor dad having to endure these nasty procedures. I continue to hope that those in the medical field, can come up with more humane tests, and treatment plans. Surely there's something they can do, to make some of these tests more comfortable, since medicine overall has come so far. I know you'll keep us all updated, and you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs.

Really?! Well, I guess that's a good thing then, in his case. I once refused to have a 'very nasty' test done, because there was no kind of sedation involved. I didn't really need the test, as it was just a 'what if' type of deal. I just didn't bother to book the appointment. There has to be a solution, for some of these things 'they' put patients through. You and your dad will continue to be in my prayers. Take care.

My Dear Grandpa!
I so was not wanting to hear this news but it had crossed my mind!
I am so sorry and there is still a chance that they will find it is not cancer...
When are they doing the scope?
It is comforting to know that they should be able to get it all out easily....Will he have to endure any radiation after the surgery at all? (My Aunt is a colon cancer survivor)
Anyhow, Don't lose hope and know that I am here for you...Just an E-Mail away!
Love and Hugs

Even if it is cancer, they say this type is not seriopus.
And it is easily removable while at the office even.
So I am not too concerned.
Dad has already forgot about it.
Doesn't even remember being at the Dr. yesterdat. hahaha!
Monday morning he goes in to the urologist for the scope deal.
No radiation neded more than likely they said.
Once again it depends on the size of the cancer if there etc.
Thanks again frien.

Your dad is so lucky to have you to care for him. It's a shame he has such a stubborn streak in him but as you know, my parents are the same way. However, hopefully you're on your way to finding out what's ailing him. Good luck to the both of you!

A lot of people have already responded to this, but I want to put in a word of encouragement. My Dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer when he was in his mid 80's. They didn't have the 'scope surgery then, they had to cut him open to take the tumor out. He even refused a blood transfusion on religious grounds. He recovered just fine and the tumor never came back.
My son had one tumor removed (scope) two years ago and had the required chemo applied in the bladder. It came back a little over a year later and he had it done again. He's now doing fine with no sign of cancer. At least the surgery isn't the major event that it was back in the late 1980's. It's usually done outpatient.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. It's specially difficult caring for a parent who never complains!

Bob I am sending an abundance of prayers in you and your families direction. Cancer is an awful disease to have, and i wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. We have to concentrate on the positive though, it sounds as though the procedure to get rid of it would be rather successful, though it doesnt sound like a pleasant one, at least they should be able to get rid of it so he can continue on to live a full life.
God Bless you and your family and i will keep a prayin

Well if it's not one thing it's something else. Good luck with the further testing that has to be done. You are definately in my prayers and at the top of the list because knowing some of the other stuff you've had to deal with I get the idea that dear ol' dad isn't going to be too co-operative with this whole ordeal. Good lord lets hope for the best Bob. Take Care

I'm sorry to here that Gpa Bob. It is always hard when there is something going on with a loved one, particularly when they are elderly. My dad it was feared had a cancerous tumor last year but it turned out to be benign, so we were all relieved.
He is feeling very good now. I hope your dad's problem can be dealt with also.

Oh I sure hope its not cancer, but its good to find out what's going on with your dad. My father in law had cancer of the bladder, and it wasn't no picnic. I don't mean to scare you, but you just have to prepare yourself for what may be ahead. I will keep him and you all in my prayers.
