At times I get writer's block or just lack of creativity/inspiration. Something that has helped me is doing the activities in "The Artist Way" particularly the Morning Pages. I feel that the Morning Pages activity is very inspiring and therapeutic. The Morning Pages activity is every morning when you get up- write three pages-even if you you can't think of anything to write. This exercise is to write your thoughts on paper- unedited. So say for example - you wake up and write- you can't think of anything to write- write it down. I find it to be like a meditation practice- just focusing on writing. Try it...I find it amazing!!

lol I don't think its possible to avoid this... sometimes you just got to respond to other peoples posts in order to stir up some good topics or maybe check out youtube or the latests on cnn lol... I dunno what to tell ya in that situation. I usually just keep responding and about every 30 posts I'll think about something I want to talk about hope this helps a little!

Well, I don't really do a lot of writing, so I don't really get it very much. I often get an art block, though I haven't had one in a while. I've been really inspired lately. If I have something to prompt me, then it's normally not so hard for me. But blocks of any kind are usually a sign it's time for a break!

"Writer's Block?" I guess I experience that sometimes! I think when I'm going through the infamous "Writer's Block" phase I tend to come out with all kinds of gobledegook!! I guess it all depends on what you are writing about as well. Some subjects I would think would be easier to write about, the ideas flow like water! I'm new to the world of writing! I haven't been officially published yet but this is what I'm hoping. So, I guess I'm going to be going through a lot more of the old "Writer's Block". Andrew

Doesn't everyone get writer's block? Isn't it just part of life that one day your brain takes out its strike signs and walks off the job? It's so frustrating when it happens, too. Because like everything, it happens right when you can't afford to deal with it.
The thing about writer's block though is to fight through it. Sometimes, you just have to track your brain down and club it into submission, then it starts working properly again.
