What are your thoughts on gay marriage? Do you think it should be allowed or not allowed? Do you think that gay people should be allowed to marry just as heterosexuals do?
I think gay marriage is no different than any other marriage. Gays should be allowed to marry whomever they like. We have a choice who we want be with so why can't they. They are no different than we are. So shouldn't they be treated the same. I surely think so. Homosexuals are the discriminated against all the time, for one example a lot of guys think it is "hot" for two girls to be lesbians but if it's two guys together it is just wrong. I don't understand it. We should just all be treated the same.
what are your thoughts on this topic?

I am 100% for Homosexual Marriages and Civil Unions. They deserve the same rights that we all have.

I dont know why anyone would have a problem with two people loving each other just because of their gender. If two guys or two girls feel strongly enough about each other and want to commit the rest of their lives together then why would anyone want to stop them. I think those that go out of their way to prevent such things have way to much time on their hands and worry to much about how other people are living their lives.

I think that gay marriage being legal (where I come from) is WONDERFUL! I'm a huge supporter of gay marriage and always will be a huge supporter of gay rights in general..I think that gay couples should be allowed to marry, adopt children, raise children without any crap from society and so on....

Hi there!
I believe anyone can choose anyone they want to be with. If it's gay or lesbian marriage so be it. If that's what makes one happy.
But when it comes to religion it is not allowed. As it is written in the Bible, there are only 2 kinds of gender that God created, man and woman. And only man and woman are allowed to have the privilge of a church wedding. And it is blessed. So when it comes to same gender relationship, I think it cannot be called marriage. Partnership maybe the right term. Still, society has never fully accepted gay and lesbian marriage but in other countries they have the right to have a civil wedding.

Yes, in our country they have the right to have a civil wedding.. Because our country is thinking straight and rational.

I think I agree that gays have the right for gay marriage but the interpretations of the bible says that it is immoral to do this. I have to agree with the bible says that man should not have relationship with the man, gays should learn the truth
about prohibiting gay marriage because marriage is part of religion. I do not discriminated gays because I have friends that is gay but the gay marriage is that I wouldn't agree.

I think it is fine. In one way it is as divine as if the couple were man and woman. The union through marriage is symbolic in essence anyway. Many say it is a sacred vow between a man and a woman and that that sacred vow is not pertinent between two men or two women. I disagree.
The symbology of marriage, in it's purest form is the marriage of two separate sides of yourself. So whether you are able to attain that through marriage is the question. It's about reflection and mirrors in duality. The man is said to represent the male side of us and the woman the female side of us. It's irrelevant whether you marry a man or a woman depending on your gender. You are going to get the reflection regardless.

Hi pickles. Yes, I think that gay marriage is the same than any other marriage. If both feel true love each one for the other why not have a marriage to make the things in a legal way? They are people and citizens like the others and have the same rights. Short minds have prejudices and the History shown us that it always hurt and kill people and is totally unfair. It is my opinion.
Cheers and have a nice day.

I think everyone who doesn't agree with gay marriage defends their point of view with rather weak argument. I easily can discard their arguments contra gay marriage. For those who point out the bible on this matter: I think that, these days, we live in a world which has proven multiple times that science and technology are of a higher value than religion. E.g: I refer to the Big-Bang experiment. So I ask myself the question: wasn't the bible just written by some prominent person who wanted to manipulate the civilian?
Therefor I think gays have the same rights than straight people. What possible disadvantage could we have when gays marry?? Just let everyone be free and happy. Gay marriage is the last issue I concern about in this society..

Hello,
I personally have no objection to Gay or Lesbian marriage. It is their life, and who are we to stop them from what they are doing? I believe that as long as someone's action does not harm, then it is perfectly alright to do so.
But given the aging population, I will strongly encourage them to go straight instead to help reproduce more human.

It should be allowed. People should be given the right to marry who they want without. I agree with you that gay marriage is no different from any other marriage. People should be treated the same, especially given the chance to love another person. There is so much hate in this world, why would we reject someone else's chance to be happy?

I have no problem at all with gay marriage. I don't understand why people have such a problem with this issue. Historically, and even now in quite a few cultures, marriage had NOTHING to do with love or even God. Marriage was a way to build relationships with families that would benefit the couple's own families. Marriage was a political and economic decision. For people that say it is a religious ceremony, do you really think that God was happy with the marriage when in all honesty it was motivated by selfish reasons? I think God much rather prefers it when two people get together and love each other and respect each other. But I'm not GOd and don't assume I know God's will - just saying.
Oh yeah, and all this stuff that if gay's get married it comprimises marriage. Comprimises marriage?? I think us heterosexuals have already done more damage to the ideal of marriage considering that over 50% of heterosexual marriages end up in divorce nowadays.
Another thought to add on this subject. THis issue should never even be an issue in politics. THis is a personal choice and I have an issue with people who vote primarily on "moral" choices.

I think they should be legal. I mean, I'm tired of religious freaks telling gay people that they are trying to shove their lifestyles down their throat, but what is it that they are doing now?? they are shoving their lifestyles down our throats, isn't that right?? I'm not a religious person, then why can't I marry my girlfriend??, my live has to be ruled by them? that's wrong on so many levels. Not very America-like at all
