I had a good cry session but not because I was sad. My sister called to tell me that my niece had gotten engaged! She is 37 and had almost lost hope of finding that special someone and about six months ago went for a massage.....guess who she is marrying? Yup! Her massage therapist! And our whole family couldn't be happier. The news was so wonderful all I could do is cry!! Woo Hoo. Have you ever been so happy for someone that you just broke down and cried? Maybe a child winning a race...or someone getting something special? I love to cry out of happiness. How about you?

Hi Jill. That is so wonderful about your niece finding a partner at age 37! Great! Sure, I've been happy for another person and cried because I was so excited for them. The one that comes to mind was a couple of years ago when a young man very dear to me graduated from high school. He hadn't really wanted to finish high school, but he stuck it out and made it all the way through! I travelled back to IL to attend that graduation and it was just so moving to see that he finished even though he had wanted to drop out at least a couple of times. It was just one of those really great moments. This probably sounds silly, but to celebrate my 50th birthday, I took part in a sprint triathlon. I had to train for it for 12 weeks and it was pretty hard work. My goals were to finish and live. No kidding. My husband and 2 sisters were there watching me. It took me 2 hours and a few minutes to finish, if I recall correctly. And I was so happy for MYSELF that I finished that after I finally got to stop running and people handed me cups of water, I felt like I was gonna cry. Then when my husband and sisters came out to tell me how good I did and hugged me, I just started crying. I was just physically and emotionally spent, but happy.

Oh, Jill, my heart goes out to you even now with everything you went through with your son. You must have been so thrilled during that mother/son dance. His life is sounding pretty great now. That's so cool! What a story to lift everyone's spirits. Thanks!

Oh yeah!! I happy cry all the time. It seems I cry out of pride over my son on a regular basis. I am a softy for kids in general. Seeing a child achieve after working hard at something will tear me up even if I don't know the child at all.

Yes, I have cried when my children were born - I was not sad when that happened - I was very happy! I also cry at weddings because I am so happy for the new couples starting out. Also, I have cried when my kids are in school plays or have gotten awards. I cried when my 9 year old graduated from Kindergarten and sang a little song about "First Grade Here I Come!". It makes me so proud of them and my eyes just fill up with tears. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

Congratulations to your niece! The last time I cried because I was happy was when our middle daughter became engaged. She was 31 and I really thought she had given up on men. Several bad relationships and she was about done. She met a wonderful man who is 8 yrs. older and fell in love. She fell hard and fast. They were married 6 months after they were engaged. So within a year's time, she met him, became engaged and then they married. She's been married 10 months and is 7 months pregnant. They didn't waste time.

Hi Jill, I couldn't be happier for your neice and your family. My philosphy in life is that Everything happens in it's own time. Your neice is living proof. It sure can be difficult waiting for that time to come. I can't think of one of those moments of happy tears but I know I have had them many times in my life. Have fun planning the wedding.xoxoxo leenie

I'v gotta say that I have had this happen a few times. But the best happy cry I have ever had was when my dad had took my mom to our favorite restraunt which is all you can eat chinesse. There were my hubby and I, My mom's best friend and her fiancea and my parents of course. During the whole week all my dad kept saying was that he need us to loan him a few bucks. We could not figure it out. And when friday came the few bucks he borrowed was for a half a dozen of red roses which my hubby had to pick up cause my dad had to finish getting the rest of the stuff for my mom's surprise. Well my hubby and I was running late so we got there late. We gave her the roses and said these are from dad. While I was still mind boggle I went to get a plate of food and my dad showed me a ring it was an engagement ring. So I went and sat down and it was hard to keep my mouth shut but I did being the god daughter I am. Well my parents had been married for 23 years at the time. Then my dad got on one knee and held the ring and asked my mom if she would marry him again and she sayed yes. Boy I'm crying just thinking about it while writing this. It was such a joy. And yes I cryed at the restraunt too. Everyone started clapping and saying such nice praises. When they got married again it was at my mom's best friends wedding and yes the one I mentioned in this disscusion. It was the best 2 days of my life to see my mom so happy with the person she loves so much. My parents are now married for 24 years and still going strong. I just hope my hubby will plan something like this for us some day.

Hi, I gotta say you need to hang in there. There is a special person out there somewhere for you. I'm sure you would like to have someone special, maybe you have not looked in the right spot yet. Tell ya what one thing that can help is next time you see a girl having a bad day offer her to allow you to listen. Some girls love it when a guy will let her vent to him. At least I do. That is one of the reasons out of all of the other ones that I and my hubby got married. Hang in there and I hope my tip will help.

I didn't break down bawling or anything but... My sons play Little League Baseball. My older son is a natural in just about any sport he tries. My son who is 17 months younger tries really hard but it just come to him as easily. He was 7 years old and playing his first year of machine-pitch baseball (he played T-ball the year before); when he got his first hit and made it to first base he was so excited. He was jumping up and down and waving. I was so happy for him that my eyes filled up. I got control of everything and didn't cry so I didn't embarrass my boys but I sure wanted to! I always want to cry watching them play sports though. I get so in to it all.

When i am happy i dont actually cry. I will just show excitement and wishes the person all the best. But every person has its different ways of showing there emotions. There are even people who mourn without crying. They grief inside but they dont actually show there sadness through crying. I cry when i am angry though. Specially if i have so much anger towards someone. I get so emotional that i cant avoid crying. So i guess we have different ways of showing emotions. When im happy i show it through hugging and jumping lol. Thats how i show my reaction to a good news.
