My daughter is cutting her first tooth and is very crabby. She doesn't really want to eat much and is fussy all the time. I can't get her to use her teething rings or even a cool wash cloth. Is there any suggestions.

when my 31 year old daughter was teething, she liked to bite down on things. haha, she especially liked to bite (gently) on my thumb. she loved the teething rings with water that you caould freeze. a friend of mine who was much more experienced than i, said she always rubbed whiskey on their gums. numbed it right away. of course, there is always over the counter products you can get. when you think of it, of COURSE, it's painful.

I use the oralgel on her gums but it only lasts for about 5 minutes. thankyou anyways. I'm going to try a sugar teat tonight.

There is something called teething tablets you can buy at Walmart or Target. You put 2 or 3 tablets under her tongue and they disolve very quickly. They helped my little one.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think she might think they are candy though. lol. She is 12 months old and cutting her first tooth. I will try your suggestion. How long do the tablets take to work?

Anything frozen is good. You can buy rings with water to freeze I think. I used to soak a small cloth and put it in the freezer and let my son chew on it. Or run an ice cube over the spot on her gums. Poor baby!

I would try Baby Orajel or teething tablets. I've heard the tablets work well. You can get them at Walmart, Target, etc
