Nowadays, texting have been the number one way to communicate with someone who is away, or to set up a meeting, or any kind of gathering. And with that comes short cutting words to make your message fit in one page to save money on sending the text message.
A lot of people who got used to cutting their wors short have at some point tends to forget how to spell (even the simplest words that we normally use). And others tends to have a hard time conducting a sentence with correct grammar and punctuations.
So, with that do you think this is making a lot of people a little bit more stupid than the way they used to be???
Thanks...

I wouldn't say it's making people stupid but maybe lazy. My husband does not like abbreviations and all that so I spell out everything (thanks to T-9) and he does to. I can also say, it helps me with my spelling to.

(uh oh... i posted this in the wrong category. hahaha...)
I think you make a good point there... I guess certain places and people use the whole word when sending text messages. But there are still a lot of people who do use abbreviations and sshort cutting the words when they text and sometimes carry it when they ym or email as well. I guess it really depends on the person huh...
Thanks for responding. Enjoy mylotting

yeah, it is making me a lil' stupid. texting makes me forget about the correct spelling of words. sometimes i also tend to forget to spell you as "y-o-u" and it worries me that maybe when time comes i need to write a formal letter.. and i might address you as "u"

I don't think texting makes ppl (sorry! ) any more stupid, but it is a habit that you can get into, and if you do a lot of your communication with your friends by text alone (Hands up anybody who wrote a snail mail letter recently?!) it can be tough to get out of..I do use it myself, but can still spell and punctuate!
