i know little about the history, but after watching the play, i think a king sometimes need to be cruel, indifferent, bloodhearted in a way, after all he is a ruler, not a father from a family. i hope someone who knows the history well can tell me more about king henry viii. thank you.

well, i think it's not exactly like that. as a ruler, yes, someone no need to be compassionate always. but he no need to be cruel, instead, he has to be terrible when it's needed. i read somewhere in indian myth, that god (which is considered as the supreme leader, the supreme ruler) has five faces. the first face as an totally compassionate face, while the fifth face is an extremely terrible one. he will 'use' the right face in the right time. regarding king henry viii, i don't know if he also have five face. i don't know if he was terrible in the needed time or it's just his nature.
