Absolutely not. I thought at this age I would have finished high school and college, possibly be taking graduate classes, be single, independent and self-sufficient.
I haven't finished high school, can't afford college, married, sickly and co-dependent.

Simply put, I am not doing what I would like to be doing. I was a Political Science/Public Administration Major in college and for nearly 25 years I have been trying to understand what it is that I can do with this major. A couple of years ago, I completed my paralegal certificate program and finding it hard to get a job in the legal field. I am thinking that the best thing to do at this time is to go into my own business and this is where things are headed. I had my own business and it was successful for five years until my partner decided he wanted to try something different and this kind of left me hanging with a business that was growing and I could not handle it myself. I have a lovely wife, a great best friend, and other members of my family who are nearby and this is great, but I am looking for the real niche that is going to make me successful. I am an author and an individual who loves to draw and paint as well. One thing that I do consider a success is that I did complete my first book and I am selling it as a self-publisher at Lulu.com.

Thanks for the wonderful comments. Unfortunately, what happened with that business, and that is was back in the mid-90s until 2000 that I had the business, was that I had a great opportunity to enter the world of Law Enforcement (which turned out to be a bust)and to continue the business would have meant that I was going to have to compete with giant's such as Best Buy, CompUSA and other computer outfits that had everything going for them. I was too small of an outfit to do it on my own. My partner and I were on the verge of a major, successful business, but he was somewhat younger than me and really wanted to play more than anything else. Oh well, lesson learned. I enjoy writing a great deal and enjoy my internet marketing and painting and drawing, so I am going to utilize these talents to make a go of a successful career. I am going to also do freelance paralegal work now that I have my paralegal certificate/diploma.
Thanks for the best response score and hope that you are not in an area of the country where the hurricane is going to effect. If so, good luck. If not, good luck anyway with your endeavors.
Have a great weekend.

wow dave how cool is that :) well, are you still with your business? the one that your partner you sad that left you hanging with? and you said it was still growing right, im just assuming that you stopped operating that business. you should not have left your business if it was "still growing", coz i think that you are a smart person and that you can develop the skill to keep things going for that business. its quite hard to start from scratch in business now a days. just keep doing what you enjoy doing best and you will succeed for you love what you are doing just try to find out something from arts and writing :) wish you all the best.

I'm still in college. I have a goal and some plans that are still vague as of now. I don't really know what the future has for me. I just want to graduate. I want to be a doctor but I can't come in direct contact to a patient because it's not healthy for me. I'm also sick but the knowledge in the profession interests me so for me to still stay in the medical field with no direct/close contact with the patient, I took pharmacy. Maybe i want to be a clinical pharmacist and at the same time own a pharmacy in our province. I hope I can achieve these goals/plans in the future. I want to have a simple life with the rest of my family.

Nope. I planned a lot of things in life and most of the things in life haven't gone according to those plans. I actually wanted to be a game developer but after college, I gave up on that idea but I'm ok now. I have a stable job and am happily living my life.

I am quite an organised person. however notwithstanding the amount of planning that I do something always crops up out of the blues. So although I do plan to the detailed minute, I try to take things as they come. I don't know what life has to offer for me in the future. Sometimes its bet to accept they way things come in life, trying to enjoy each day as a unique one. I am lucky that the course that I made in college helped me to get my present stable job.
