Falling Asleep While Watching The Television

Do you ever get this feeling? Whenever you are watching something really great, or a tv show that you've waited for almost a week and then all of a sudden your eyes will just close on you. Kinda like making fun of you and playing with your mind that despite of your well rested night you still get drowsy over the tube.
This is kinda weird because I am a sort of an insomniac person until I started working night shifts. Though whenever I watch a certain program that I really planned in watching, I tend to fall asleep and my eyes just starts to close on me. Which by the way is really annoying because the fact that you have waited for the day that you'll watch this particular show or program in the telly then all of a sudden someone or something just makes you want to sleep.

Yeah, that has happened to me
that is why I try to keep my eyes open during the commercials. Sometimes when a commercial comes on I will close my eyes to rest them. I can hear the background noise, then when I open my eyes, the show has come back on and I would have missed some of it. When this happens too many times during a show, I just give in and turn the TV off and go to sleep. It happens mostly when I am watching TV from my bed. That is why I rather sit up to watch TV, but sometimes there is something I want to see, and my husband does not, so I will go into another room, which happens to have bed

I try to avoid feeling that way by putting on my headphones and listening to music. Somehow doing that keeps away the sleepy feeling. By the time my movie comes on I'm wide awake, and I usually stay wide awake until it goes off. Especially if it's a horror movie or a good action movie.
