hey buddy i thought about this a lot of times.. then i decided that i would limit my discussions and responses to about 4 to 5 lines!!! each!! cause i have seen discussion going on and on.. saying the same matter again and again!!! but i have seen discussions which do have some matter even if they are long!!! so do you think people make long discussions just to make money in mylot or do you believe that discussions can be short and crisp as 5 lines?

Well I do. Sometimes if I'm really interested in a topic and its a question that makes sense then I really answer it seriously. If its just a question that I think or what I call earning post then I just say what I want to say regardless if it does make sense or not. Hehe. Happy mylotting!!

I think the length of the discussion depends on the topic and what there is to discuss.
I would like to see more real discussions in the money interests (a referral exchange is NOT a discussion) and have tried to do so and I see others are attempting to do so too.
When I start I try not to wander and just state the facts or arguments to make it into a discussion. When I've said all I want to say that's it and it could be long or short.
I don't think about making money here actually. it just happens!

It depends on the kind of discussion and the topic and also the thought of the responder and the words eh wants to express. For me it would depend on what I wanted to say regardless of the target and the number of lines it requires.

Yes, it happened to me many times, i really dont try to make a standard length of responses. I just let the ideas flow and type as fast as I can not even thinking if the grammar is ok.LOL
Have a nice day and take care!

magna86 I think we all should be allowed to use whatever works
best for us, we are all different and I do hate always hearing oh he does it for money, anybody so rich that they cannot use some money? give me a break. I hate too short discussions that are usually not a discussion as what flavor of ice creamn do you like best? that is not a discussion.Or that go on for pages as to why obama is a horrible man because page after page of innuendoes and not much truth. I make mine medium length and do not count the blasted lines but check to see if its a real discussion a nd whether or not others will be attracted to it.As for money most of us here can and do use that money so no more just to make money. I love mylot friends and the give and take of them too.I think we are all a bit differentand viva la difference we arenot boring then.

That should depend on the question or topic of your discussion. If it can well be responded with a few lines, then that is how it should be. But there may be cases like your topic can be a bit deep. For that discussion to responded one may have to go into more detail to make a point. When I receive a notification of new discussions my friends have created here I go straight to my response regardless that I may sound redundant simply because what I have to say is mine and would never be totally the same as what our other friends say here. To each his own opinion. I wouldn't mind if someone else would say the same things I have already said because I respect what they have to say. If in any way they are just doing it to earn here on mylot I guess that's what we are doing here in the first place. to share and to earn at the same time. I do make my repsonses short if a long one isn't needed. Cheers!

a meaningful reply is generally short and crisp. may be a couple of words.
i too prefer to have it in 4-5 lines.
i dont know if we take the reply to great lengths they will pay us more. more than earning, we are building up a healthy community and good interaction here. for some topics i agree it is impossible to answer in 8-10 lines. somebody does not read anything, he ends his comment in a line. someone is in an argumentative mood, so he tries to find fault in your views and writes at great length.

exactly what i had in mind buddy!! i should accept.. for a day i thought i had to make lengthy discussions to make money!! but i thought would it be fair do that??? just for money? then the quality of mylot itself would go down!!! and for people who are searching for answers.. it would really difficult to read all the lengthy discussions .coz they are wasting their time..

I am not so sure that it really matters how many lines you write as long as the response or posts is of good quality. I have seen many lengthy discussions and I must say , I get bored with them. Sometimes it is okay though. like when they do not repeat themselves over and over again. I think that the average earnings per post is only 1 cent anyway.

General consensus is that you should have at least three or four lines. However, if you make your post longer you don't get paid for the longer amount that you wrote. You will make about one to three cents per post and that's that. It doesn't matter if you write five lines or fifty-five lines. It would then seem that the longer posts are because people like to write a lot and that is a completely different issue. I often write a lengthy response when the topic requires it.

I think that a good discussion is usually longer than five lines, but you can have a decent one like that. I don't like long discussions when they are utterly repetitive, but if they actually have substance and make me feel like I want to be involved in the discussion then I think it is good. I think a decent response should be at least 3 lines long generally, but a lot of times if someone has really generated a lot of thoughts on a subject from me, I might write a response nearly as long as the discussion. It all really depends. But I do agree that some people write things just for the money and often have no substance at all.

It's okay to post lengthy discussions if the substance of the post is worth reading. I do read post no matter how long if the topic is really very interesting and useful. I am learning by doing so anyway. However if the topic is very long but does not have any sense what is the use of making it lengthy. Nobody will read that so why waste time?

Hmmm... Well, they say that quality discussions should be consist of 4-5 lines and that will make more earnings. But there are discussions that are short but full of substance. I don't disagree with the thought that lengthly discussions are more quality but its what in the topic that makes it quality, though short it may be.
In making a post we should have to be descriptive so the effect is that we tend to make our posts lenghtly with explanations and to be more specific.
So, after making 4-5 liner discussions, did it earn you more?

Yup! I agree with fellow lotter that not all lengthly discussions are quality discussions. There are short discussions that are of quality and more direct to the point. I like those kinds of discussions more. Short and simple but will make you think hard first to be able to respond.
Keep posting!

Until now I was of the opinion that discussions at my lot should be detailed with clarity on the contents in it and its relevance with its topic. I mean the discussion should be descriptive, understandable. If we want to express our point of view we have to write more. To my surprise here at my lot most of the people do not like the detailed and lengthy discussions because it bothers them the read it and some time twice to respond. This is the reasons that such discussions are seldom responded and in some cases there are lot of responses to these discussions. I can say that though the most discussions with three four lines could hardly convey its message and the discussions mostly responded are pertaining to earning of money more and others less. It is the sweet will of the members to respond or not but I am sure that the people who like detailed discussions would continue though their feelings would hurt if they do not get much responses. How do you see it now please comment and have a nice day.

you have given a point here!! i do accept its really hard to read all the lengthy discussions.. and people also find it difficult to respond!! and some people would be in a hurry that they do not have time to read long discussions! so eventually the responses would be affected!! so why not make the post a quality one? with 4-5 lines.. this is my point..

It all depends. Depends on the individual's writing style and topic. I read some of these lengthy discussions, and you can tell they're just rambling on just to get quantity more than quality. But there are discussions out there that are lngthy and contain a lot of juicy and useful information.

I don't know the earning possibility in lengthy discussions. What I am doing is to give my opinion in short. I think that is enough. Say only the essence, that is my style. I think it depends upon the subject also. If the subject demands a lengthy discussion then it is alright. But Mylot is appreciating a descriptive type discussion. So if you want a lengthy one please go ahead. Thanks.

For me as long as my answers have sense and is in the topic, that's the best. I believe in the saying "Quality is better than quantity." Just as long as I answer the questions and I answer them correctly and honestly, my answer is over.
