Yes, every one has his own priority and may not accompany you every where. However friends may have many common interesr and therefore may be with you on many a occaision. Well, it all depends upon the kind of chemistry you two have buid up. But a true friend will definitely support you where ever you need him.

no, some friends are not forever, some are for the moment, some are seasonal, and some are lifelong, but not all. we all will make friends and then loose contact with them, so many things can and do come up that cause that rift, but there is usually one or two atleast that are forever

i think it would be wrong to go into a friendship with the mindset that it wont last forever.. you might not care as much

I think some friendships, not all friendships are meant to be forever. Then there are others that are not meant to be forever. I have a few friends that I know that they will stick around till the end, they will be around no matter what. Then I have some of those friends who just kind of started falling off one by one. I've been around them through thick and thin, but they have used that to their advantage and then just started dropping off. So I guess it depends on what type of friend you have and if you know them well. I think a true friend though will stick it out through the end and be there no matter what.

I think friends are "forever" in the sense that you have memories and cherish them. You can drift apart and have different lives and still remember one another fondly...occasionally keeping in touch. Nothing is "truly" forever but theres always a friend in your heart or thoughts.

I learned long ago that friends are for a time or a season. The only time I hear from my school friends is when I get a notice of a planned reunion. When I retired, I collected the addresses and phone numbers of those with whom I felt particularly close. I've not heard from any of them, although I have kept in touch with two ladies who left our place of employment before I retired. I've become closer to them after they moved than during our mutual employment. The most dependable friends that I've ever have were those that are or were members of the same church congregation as I.
