I'm curious about the candian culture, in fact I'm aspiring to live in Canada with my family and with my future family. But Little I know about the insights about the Canadian culture, about its people's every day lives. In fact I've heard that it's not really that entertaining or amusing living in Canada because of the lack of population for a huge country. And most of my Filipino friends who are now living in Canada got bored there. So I want to know what do most Canadians do for past time, leisure time? Because to be honest in Philippines the most common past time is going to mall. and going to the beach, those are the most common past times here. any comments would be fine with me

And then there are the sports. In professional sports hockey is the big attraction, but baseball, basketball and football are not far behind. For kids the big games to play are lacrosse and soccer.
I was born and raised in Toronto and now live in a town of 27,000 about an hour north-east of the city. Sometimes I wish I lived closer so I could go to concerts and stuff. There's Canadian Idol which just ended, and now So You Think You Can Dance Canada is starting. The Toronto International Film Festival is winding down this weekend, as is the Ukranian Festival. Upcoming is "Word on the Street" which is a very large book fair where you can meet authors, publishers and editors. I've never been but have always wanted to. There are always some festivals or fairs going on.
Outside Toronto you will find Canada's Wonderland (our version of Disneyworld), Niagara Falls has more than just the Falls to look at. They have tons of activities, museums and such, including a hotel that is an indoor water park. In the winter you can go ice skating at indoor rinks, outdoor rinks (Toronto City Hall has one) or even on some lakes, ponds and rivers. White water rafting in the summer is a big one too.
I could go on and on. We have barely touched the tip of the ice berg... and we've only been mentioning Ontario. Perhaps some members from other provinces can tell you what they have to offer. My husband is from Prince Edward Island and there are festivals going on all the time down there - lots of fiddle music and step dancing.
And, I believe, we have the best health care system in the world... but we need more doctors.

Stop it! Stop it! Now I feel bad I can't be there NOW! lol Yeah I've hear Hockey is a big thing in Canada, and oh I love basketball and my favorite player is Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns. He's Canadian he actually lived in BC.I'm a film maker and Toronto International FIlm Festival is one of the things I'm really eager to be part of, maybe someday I will have the chance to participate there And that I know Canada has one of the best health care systems in the world. WHo cares if the taxes are higher than some some countries. You guys are lucky you've lived in a peace loving country like Canada. I LOVE CANADA!!!!

Canada has all sorts of things to do. Even though it isn't half as populated as some other countries, we still have just about anything the heart can desire. It also all depends on where you live. If you move to a rural area, there won't be much to do. If you move to a big city then there are tons of things. We have go-carts, mini golf, regular golf, movie theaters, resturants, bowling, night clubs, lounges, bars, malls, pool halls, beaches, skiing and snow tubing in the winter. I find that if you don't go out and try different things and KEEP yourself active then of course you'll be bored. It's all up to YOU to go do things. You are responsible for your own actions, therefore, if you want to be bored then you will be and if you want to have fun, there's tons of options to help you with that. By far we not a country that has minimal resources, where we live in igloos or teepees and live off the land with trees all around. We are just as built up as the USA, England, Italy and so forth. Don't worry, you won't be bored here if you just go out and do things.
