Suicidal tendancies!

Why did this man today lay down right in front of my car at a busy intersection? Did he have a suicidal wish I wonder? Okay the details first and foremost. I was coming back from an A.A. meeting a little while ago. I was on a busy road, speed limit 50 MPH. As I approached a traffic light this man suddenly was running in the middle of the road then laid down right in the path of my car. the light was red so I had slowded to about 20MPH. Then as I crept to within 20 feet of this man I saw the reason he choose to lie in the middle of the road. Standing now over this young man was a local Police Officer with weapon drawn beading down on the mans body. I poulled off to the side immediately. Then the man jumped up and the officer screamed, "Lay Down Now!" Then he shot a tazer at the young man. He fell to the ground as 3 more Police cars pulled up. At that point the hogtied him with cuffs and those plastic bands. I was then directed by an officer to leave the scene. I never got the chance to get my camera from the trunk for a phot. Guess I need to keep it in the glove box. Now I wait to hear the local news tonight/tomorrow to see what this commotion was all about. Ever seen a man being shot with an officers Tazer? Thanks all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

Oh how horrible to witness something like that. I bet it took time for your heart rate to slow down. I don't ever want to see someone tazed, I have seen it on tv and thats sacry enough for me. Those tazers can kill people, they have killed people before. I am sure thats enough excitement for you today.

Oh wow that had to have been exciting. I can't believe you keep your camera in the trunk. It's because of you and all the great shots you've shared that I now carry my camera with me every place I go - it's in my purse on the floor right next to me at all times :)

Well you got me hooked but I never see anything exciting. Closest I got was yesterday I almost hit 2 wild turkeys - they were crossing the road right in front of me but by the time I had my camera turned on they were deep in the woods next to the road. Now I need to just drive with it on the dashboard turned on :)

Wow. Talk about excitement! I've only seen people tazed on Cops. My husband laughs at me cause I'm always yelling "Taze him bro, taze him." I guess I have a mean streak.

That is something else. You never know what you will see these days. That is why I always go places with my husband and never alone. I have never seen someone being tazered before accept on the COPS show.

And that is the sort of thing I have only watched on American cop tv shows where they follow the cops around! So that is about the only place I have ever seen anyone tazered.

Wow Grandpa Bob! What excitement! That's quite a story! Can't wait to hear what that was about. They didn't have to tazer him if he was already laying down in the street. Good thing you weren't going any faster! Let us know what he did to have all that Police attention. Must have been pretty serious. Still don't think the tazer was necessary. The cops use it to often lately just for fun. I know that they are doing it all over the US lately for no real reason.

I cannot imagine the mixed bag of emotions that must have oozed through your body while watching the events that you describe Gradpa! I would have likely been frightened (in the event that gunfire had ensued), fascinated, curious, numb, and much more! Like you stated, my eyes would be glued to the television news and local newspapers for the next few days to see what might have caused such a scene. Sure sounds like the young man had attemptd to run/evade the police.

What an exciting life you lead. I am glad I was not involved in all of that. No I have not seen anyone being tazered. Is it as bad as it looks on TV? Did you know you can buy your own personal tazer? They have a personal ID in them so if you use it and run away the police can track it to you. I saw an infomercial for the thing one late night when I could not sleep.

Hi Pa! What a shocking experience. I have seen fat bellied policemen chased a snatcher. Its like two pigs chasing a cat.
