How many of you really believe that Hillary would have accepted the V.P. spot?

Personally, I don't. If Obama wins and she's the V.P., she has to wait up to 8 years before she can run for president on her own. I know there were meetings between her and Obama and no one knows what they entailed. If Obama loses, she's not connected to a presidential race loss. As it is, Hillary will continue to do great things in the Senate and keep herself open for the possibility of 2012. You can't really say right now who the party will back four years from now.

This is a difficult question because I thought she would have put up greater fight for the nomination during the convention. Part of her was hoping for the vp however, the other part she hopes he is defeated and she will be the 2012 candidate. She may not be certain herself and may have demanded a roll for Bill. Obama made the right choice ln not picking her but maybe she have picked a woman for vp just not Hilliary She would not be change

Hillary Clinton is a politician through and through so she's going to do whatever works best for her political future. Being loyal to the Party was more beneficial to her then fighting for the nomination. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't some negotiating with regards to Bill. Sure wish we knew for sure!

I think she would have accepted.
Here's why. I learned from studying the life of Adolf Hitler that all such evil people are surrounded by more of the same. These other people surrounding the primary evil person will do any evil necessary WITHOUT BEING TOLD that will advance the primary evil person so as to carry themselves higher too. Dozens of people were killed who stood to threaten Hitler's early political career. No way did Hitler order them all killed. Just like Hillary would not have to order Obama killed if she was VP. One of her loyal minions would do it for the cause.
Yes, Hillary would have taken the VP slot in a heartbeat, hoping for Obama's to be stolen from him.

Cherylspearls,
I'm sure that in the case of Obama, the consideration of a nut Hillary supporter killing Obama if Hillary was VP had to be a serious consideration. A study of history and a knowledge of Clinton's history in Arkansas indicates any President with Hillary as VP would be at risk. That's just the way it is.

Wow, red, that was an unexpected theory. But, the next logical question would be, if that's the evil plan, why wait until after the election to knock him off? If he were gone tomorrow the DNC would quickly replace him with Clinton.

Hilary Clinton probably would not have accepted. Hilary has different policies, plus a possible run for president at the next election.

I believe in your reasoning why she would not have accepted the V.P. spot under Obama. I do not believe he is going to win, yet alone, that if he does, do 8 years either. I think that if he does win and he does a horrible job as president, then there is a good chance that the country will find itself in a sense that if he can't do it, then who says that a woman will be a good choice. I think you are right that she might continue to do some good things in the Senate, but I am not sure that she really sees the true picture on some issues.
Good luck to both candidates and their running mates. This is going to be interesting down the stretch. It was certainly interesting to see both candidates together at Ground Zero in New York, then at the Presidential Forum. But, now is the time, not at the last minute to get them together face-to-face to start discussing the issues and how either Senator McCain or Senator Obama is going to make this country great again.
I have already made my decision about who I am voting for, but I do have an open mind.

Yes, that is what having an open mind means. Sounds like you have it and good luck.
Good luck to us all.......
Have a great weekend.

I'll probably still be weighing all of my various issues even as I walk into my polling place! Thanks for your response.

Personally, I am glad that she is not the VP candidate. I love Hillary and all she stands up for. If she had been VP, and Obama lost, she would be the one blamed for it.
It was a wonderful election year for Democrats as we had people from all walks of life. I'm proud of the Democratic Party. I'll be voting for Obama in November. I hope all Hillary supporters will do the same.

Good point, Cheryl, and one I hadn't considered...she probably would have been blamed for a loss and that's something she would have had a hard time living down.

No I do not think she would have accepted it. She is too clever to cut herself out of the 2012 campaign. I am not ashamed to say I was very disppointed she lost the nomination so God willing I hope I shall still be around if she makes another bid for the presidency.

I agree, I don't think she was interested in being VP, she want it whole hog or nothing. But she may of had a better chance in winning if she was the VP and ran. I'm believing that is Palin gets in and does all that she says she wants to do, 2012 may belong to her. Hillary would never be satisfied being number 2. I would not of voted for her, to me I don't think she cared about the little people. But like you said who know who the people will be looking at in 2012, if Obama gets in anyone might look good to them by then.

She's definitely not a quitter, that's for sure. I don't think she'll quit until she's sitting in the Oval Office.

I don't know - I'm mostly glad she wasn't offered the spot. And, I hope she never wins. She reminds me too much of the one who's leaving and I don't want another one like that in the White House.

I was thinking the same thing. She is a force unto herself and she would be wasted as a VP.

Hi Barbietre. I also believe that she learned some valuable lessons during this campaign that will help her in the future.

I fully agree with you. I don't think that she would have accepted the position. We don't really know Obama may have offered and she turned it down or maybe he didn't even consider her at all.

If you know the history of the Clintons. They have a reputation like Suge Knight, everybody they come in contact with becomes a stiff. That's the only smart Barak "HUSSIEN" Obama, has done thus far. Not picking The Hil Bills for VP

You know that has all been disproven, check your facts. In fact everyone in this world has "associations' like that. I think it is called "six degrees of separation".

I do believe that she would have accepted. Hillary was yearning for it after being defeated by Obama for the Democratic Nomination. Plus, she'd still have a rather large say in the future of our country

I think she would of accepted... Obama and the DNC made a terrible mistake when they didn't pick Hillary and McCain and RNC has made that point obvious look how McCain is out polling Obama since his brillant move by picking Gov.Palin after Obama and DNC drop the ball by not picking Hillary...I think that she would of accepted the VP just for the party's sake of unifying it...
