Why was it ok for John Mccain to insult Hillary without the media blowing it up?

Nobody made a big deal out of it because Democrats knew that he was speaking of the health care plan Hillary wanted, not Hillary herself. He was comparing it to the health care plan of 1993.
What Obama said was no different. He was referring to McCain's new mantra of change, not to Palin. McCain does not represent change of any kind and all Republicans know that; McCain himself knows that. And yet, he has has the nerve to use change as a slogan of his campaign. He's fooling nobody.
In both instances, it was politics being discussed and not individuals. The only difference was the choleric response from the Republican side.

I think it's "ok" for McCain to do that, because he's a "good ole' White Boy" and the republicans are going to defend him, even when his behaviour is incredibly bad. Sad what some people are going to do to keep a black man, and.or a woman from being PRESIDENT! It makes me absolutely sick!

The answer lies right in your question - the MEDIA didn't make a big deal of it because they love McCain, or they sure did when he said it and he said it about Hillary's proposal and it's just plain fine to insult Hillary. Pretty disgusting, isn't it?
