Anyone else notice that gas prices are getting close to $5 today. It looks like Hurricane Ike is going to kick the entire countries butt not just Texas. I have a full tank of gas right now and I'm hoping the prices go back down before I have to make another trip to the pump.

Wow. I am glad I don't like where you do. Gas is staying steady at 3.54/3.55 a gallon here.

I was out and about around 4 o'clock today and I just checked it on the MSN Gas finder. Seems like gas around her takes awhile to go up sometimes though. When we evacuated for Gustav people were complaining about paying $340./a gallon. Apparently until not that long before Gustav they were paying about 3.25/gallon. At that point we were paying $3.54/gallon.

oh man, I should of filled up ahead of time but no I had to put it off thinking that Gustav didnt affect prices and nothing will happen. Bush claims there is measures to avoid gas stations from hiking up prices but they showed right on cnn them doing that very thing. My mother-n-law is over there in Houston and still waiting to see how she pulled through. We called her before the storm but she said she talked to the neighbors and nobody was evacuating and that was friday morning. I have diesel so I imagine Im gonna get hit hard and the gas station down the street always keeps their diesel priced 30 cents above the other stations. We cross the state line to get gas now where its usually 50 cents cheaper than where we live, thankfully, its only a 15 minute drive. Im trying to boycott my car and go back to not using it. It really has been an eye opener because where as I was once very independent and could take a train and bus no problem now its like a big deal.

I'm not really sure where the gas prices originate. You can't blame the individual stations. An owner at a local station got his latest truck and he had to pay over $4 a gallon to fill up the pumps for the gas station. He can't very well charge less than that. Supposedly that area will be without power for as much as 2 to 3 weeks so I think the prices will take a while to ease back down at least in the east coast.

I knew that they would use this hurricane as an excuse to raise the already high gas prices anytime they can come up with a reason to raise them they will. We already can't afford the gas prices so why not make them higher right? Soon we won't be able to afford to even put a gallon of gas in our vechicles.

Well yes, an myLotter informed us this today.. It is a shame... I don't think that other people will start riding a bike to work pretty soon. Some don't want to wait on Public Transportation.. Gas prices are absurd these days!

I just walked to get food someplace we would normally drive. It's gone up over $1 today so far where I live. The prices are definitely going to change how people live.
