Whose spouse drinks & says /does stupid things that you take for serious?

I have a friend whose spouse got drunk in front of their friends and said that if he could divorce her right now he would? now i dont know about you all but my ex husband use to do stupid mess like this and yes i would take him for being serious and i would punish him or treat as if he meant whether he did or not! how do you all handle situations like that? Does your spouse ever do mess like this?

My boyfriend doesn't act like that when drinking. But a friend of mine, her husband has said things that are uncalled for and mean while drinking. I once heard that the things people say when they are buzzed, drunk whatever usually hold some truth to them. Their inhibitions are down and say pretty much what is on their mind. I wouldn't tolerate my husband talking to me like that and I don't think your friend should either. (sorry if that sounds harsh).
