I don't think it really matters. In Britain, it is normal to wear wedding rings on the left hand. I thought this was normal the world over until I met a German lady who wore hers on her right hand. I notice you are from Phillipines so I don't know which way round it is there. Still, I don't suppose it's of that much importance. As long as you know what the ring is for, that should be all that matters.

Perhaps it's more comfortable that way or, perhaps they are confused as well!
I know there are some people who wear wedding rings on their right hand, for example, if they remarry after beinged widowed or something like that.

I asked my friends about this question, and the answer i got is ladies on the right and man on the left. There is a Chinese saying " Man left, Lady right".
But for me and my dear, we put it on our left finger. We feel more comfortable to put it there. (",)
Btw, better ask your bf/fiance to do a research before your marriage. If not...heheh...

Wikipedia says that in some countries it is traditional to wear a wedding ring on the left hand while in others it is traditionally worn on the right.
Left Hand: UK, other Commonwealth nations, Japan, Korea, Ireland, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Iran, Chile, Italy, France, Turkey, Slovakia, Sweden, Finland, and Slovenia
Right Hand: Serbia, Germany, Norway, Greece, Russia, Spain, Peru, India, Colombia, Venezuela, Ukraine, and Poland. Orthodox Christians and Eastern Europeans also traditionally wear the wedding band on the right hand.
There is no 'correct' hand to wear it on. Since it is a symbol designed to be understood by others, it is best to wear it on the hand which is most usual in the country you are in.

Since the Philippines, I believe, have many Spanish Catholic traditions, I would expect some people, at least, to wear the ring on the right hand. On the other hand, you also have many traditions which come from the US, where wearing the ring on the left hand is more usual!

i would it if my future husband would wear it on his left ring finger. the left hand is nearer and straighter to his heart. that explains it.

The side of the ring is a custom. I think it is common to the majority of the world. If you are married then wife wear the ring in her left hand and the husband in the right hand. Otherwise it should be changed or the ring is not to be wore in the ring finger.

It is fascinating to read the responses from so many different cultures... because you get different answers! In the Roman tradition, common in the US I always learned both man and woman have it on the Ring Finger... the finger next to the pinky on the LEFT hand.
Since I have some Irish roots I have always thought I would like a Claddagh ring as my wedding ring. Those, you also turn a certain way to indicate if you are available, engaged or married. I adore them. (You can see one here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claddagh_ring if you don't know what I mean.)

i'm not big on marriage but i believe the reason for the left finger is because it was believed to be in direct lineage with the heart. For true love etc it's still traditionally on that figer for the majority of people in the uk but whatever you want to do is up to you. If you both want to wear it on your right hand as long as your wearing it and have agreed the bond and the importance of it thats all that matters.

Wedding rings, it will always be on the left hand of the guy, and on the right for the gal ^_^ Even for engagement rings, they are the same ^_^
Never mind if u forget now, but when it comes to the real wedding, your bf or husband must not forget as he will be the one putting on the ring for u.. hehe ^_^

Hi there!
Wedding rings can be worn either on the left or on the right finger. But most countries have the tradition on wearing weddings rings on the the left hand. Wearing it on either hand is acceptable and symbolizes marriages and fidelity.
Though some women when being engaged, they wear their engagement ring on the right hand finger and once they got married their wedding ring is worn on the left hand.
Ciao!
