I was ecstatic when I discovered cake decorating was one of the interests here on Mylot. I was equally dismayed when I saw the lack of responses and/or discussions. I hope there is someone here on mylot who shares my passion for this interest and will be willing to share tips and ideas with me. I haven't studied at any of the Culinary Institutes but I did complete all 3 of Wilton's decorating courses and have been happily decorating since. I've managed to sell a few cakes also. I have quite a few pictures on Cakecentral.com if anyone would like to check them out. Have a great day and Happy Decorating!

I just recently discovered cake decorating and it's something I've fallen in love with!! I've always liked to bake, but never thought of doing it professionally. I'm taking Wilton classes at Joann Fabrics and am going to try & get into selling my cakes. I love CakeCentral... it's a great website & the pictures on their are absolutely inspiring!

Hi Ikoenig07, I am also a member of cakecentral. I have gotten quite a few ideas from there. There are pictures of most of my cakes posted there under mcjohnson7 if you'd like to take a look sometime when you are on there. Do you have any pictures posted there? If so, I'd love to look at them. Be sure to stick with your Wilton courses and take all 3. You won't regret it. I wish you much success with your cake decorating and selling your cakes. Thanks for responding and make it a beautiful day....decorate a cake...LOL If you ever need any tips or advice, I'll be glad to help out if I can.

I realize you started this discussion a long time back, but it struck a chord with me. I too was ecstatic when I saw cake decorating as a interest and so disappointed when I saw how long it had been since any discussion, etc. Do you think there might be any hope of reviving this interest group?
