Happy - Birthday
Since many have mentioned how to properly say Happy Birthday in Tagalog which is "Maligayang Bati" or "Maligayang Kaarawan". I'd like to share how our drinking buddies greet each other. We say:Happy Beerday! or happy Burpday!

In most of the cases the world Happy Birth Day is used but in the local languages in every country it is taken like in Hind Janam Din Mubarik, in Punjab Janam Din deian Lakh Lakh Wadhania etc are prevailing this part of the world. To me you can use any words but these should be communicable and understandable.

Someone already said that it's "maligayang bati" or "maligayang kaarawan" in Filipino. I think, "Happy Birthday" is "tanjoubi omedetou" in Japanese (because I'm a little bit familiar with common expressions in that language). =)
