I have a laptop but I don't own a desktop PC. I've had my laptop since I was in school and it was very useful because of its portability. However, it lacks power that desktop PC has. Many of my friends prefer a desktop PC over a laptop and I don't really understand what advantages there are in it.
Care to shed some light in the matter?

to me I have a laptop and a desktop. I use my laptop all the time and my desktop is used more for a home file server.
the only advantage with a desktop is that it will have better cooling capabilities, and is more expandable than a laptop.
My Laptop does everything I need it to do plus it is portable.
Think of this if you had a storm and had to evacuate what is easier to grab and go. a laptop not a desktop

It depends on your life style if your job entails a lot of travelling than a laptop is more suitable in your case. If not a desktop could do just fine. Desktops have gone really down in prices Laptops are still expensive at the moment. Desktops can be easily fixed when things go wrong. I am not that sure when it comes to laptops. If a laptop breaks only the manufacturing company is able to fix it contrary to a desktop.

Hi. I actually own a desktop PC but, most of the time these days, I find myself using the laptop issued by our firm, even for personal purposes (like myLot-ing, for example). This way, I could actually surf from the comfort of my bed, propped up on my pillows, with relative privacy (as opposed to sitting stiffly in our living room while using the PC).
I still maintain my desktop though, even if it's gotten slow over the year, as I could have it upgraded when I get the means to. =)

I use both of it, but for my choice, i prefer those desktop PC, why? because desktop PC's are much faster and you can upgrade its part. The cons of it is just a huge component. I also use laptop in school but not totally amaze on that, just because it is portable but not that fast enough for my gaming needs. AHaha
