Filipinos are well known for our tasty dishes. We can't blame them. *I* can't blame them. I haven't found any other country that has better dishes than ours - of course the Thai dishes are superb and appeal to my spicy taste, however, our variety in foods is amazing!
Personally, I think the best Filipino dish is ensaladang mangga: green mango with tomatoes, onions, shrimp paste.
What say you? (LOL at 300 reference)

Of course you would be partial to your native dishes, because you have aquired the taste for it. To say you haven't found any other country that has better dishes than ours, is because you are more familiar with your dishes.
I live in the US, and I can say we have many great tasting dishes, but I may not like the dish that you think is great, not because it isn't good, but because I have not aquired a taste for it.
Your dish with the mango, I wouldn't like, because I do not like mangoes. Everyone has different tastes.

i think her question is what's your favorite Filipino dish? I think she was pretty clear about that. If she asked what is your favorite Italian dish then people would be naming food like pasta etcetera which also does not appeal to other people. peace!

For me it may not be the best but it is definitely the dish that would represent us the most and that is sinigang. Just like us who are composed of different ancestries and cultures, sinigang could be made of any type of meat (pork, beef, fish) and with any type of souring ingredient (tamarind, guava, miso, kamias etc.)For me it is the sinigang that really is the "Filipino Dish"
