There was a time when it hit me really hard, and I'd be deeply depressed for days! I've learned, somehow, to allow myself a couple of sad minutes, then just put it aside and try to improve the piece again. I didn't consciously try to learn this, but it's happened. I'm glad for that. Now I just rewrite and submit the piece somewhere else.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Just take it casually and like any other forgettable moment, remove it and move forward. This is best way to live life.

Thanks for the best response notation. Even more, thank you for bringing me to think about my reactions to rejection. I hadn't realized how far I've come until I put it into words to suit your post.

I have had much more of my work published than rejected. I try to submit something every day to different online publishers, so each week I will get some acceptance emails, and then I won't mind so much if some of my assignments are not accepted.
If something is not accepted I can rewrite it and submit it somewhere else, so nothing is wasted. I publish on several writing sites which won't reject anything, if it is of a good standard, within their rules and guidelines.

Yes Dear, and this is so because you have learnt to accept things as they are, becasue those who are optimistic and positive, can only find a sensible way out. Good going!prashant@friendstime.com

Rejection is always hurtful, but I agree, it if very hard for writers. It is putting a piece of yourself out there and having someone respond to it negatively. Very personal. I just have always assumed I would be rejected, or things would go worse than they do, etc. and then when things go better than I expect, (which is almost always) I am thrilled! :-)

I find it's best to not ask so they can't say no. I definately do not take it well and it can bother me for months. When it comes to writing I try my best to make it absolutely perfect so I won't have to worry about it. I get opi9nions from other people first and try to make it the best it can be.
