"The Sound of Music"I know it's old, but some of the best movies are the older ones where they really have to tell the story and not rely on s'x and violence to interest their audience. I learned all of the songs in school when I was very young, so that also makes it special to me.
The fact that it's based on a real story, allows you to learn a bit of history while you are at it. It was not a good time for the world, during WWII, especially places like Austria. Don't we all wonder what it would be like to have to leave your own country, maybe forever. "The hills are alive with the sound of music."

Well, my favorite musical of all time, would have to be Greese. I have always loved this movie, even though it is a little cheesy. Both John Travolta and Olivia Newton John were awesome in this movie. The sequel was kind of a flop, but most sequels are.

I must admit that the genre of muscials is usually looked over at my household but I recently bought one because of the subject matter, the directer and the familiar cast of charachters. I must say that Sweeney Todd is my all time favorite musicals and it is pretty high on my list of movies period. You can't go wrong with brilliant minds like Tim Burton and Johnny Depp.

I like "The Sound of Music" the most. I have watched it when I was a kid, and I still like it until now. LOL. This is the best musical movie I've ever seen and the song is classical. Until now, people still singing "Doe... a deer a female deer..." and Julie Andrews was a good singer back then. I also like her in "Mary Poppins". The last musical movie I watched was "Sweeney Todd" but I don't like it that much, I'd rather watch "Moulin Rouge" for the recent musical movie LOL
