Gas prices went up where i live like 60 cents yesterday due to Ike. A lot of gas stations are even out of gas. I live in Georgia and my mother lives in New York. She called this morning and said the same thing was happening there. This reminds me of Katrina. Is this happening all over the US?

Well, they keep on threatening that Gas prices will rise here in the Seattle area as well, but so far everywhere seems to be holding steady right around $3.80. I am hoping somehow Congress can step in to keep the prices from going up too much. We cannot afford the price hikes along with everything else right now. Just continuing to Pray for things to not be effected that much.

Some of the prices around here are starting to creep up but we are still around 3.55/gallon.
Odds are we won't see a huge increase since store owners cashed in on all the evacuees for Gustav.

I have not been out of the house today yet to see what the gas prices are here but it was 3.81 here yesterday morning. I am sure that this will have a great impact on the fuel prices. Everything always has an effect on the gas prices. I think that it makes matters worse when they jack the price of fuel 'cause after all, When gas is up everything goes up. I sure hope that it won't last long though.

Ours went up 14 cents in an hour and a half yesterday, haven't been back out since then so don't know what it's done now that ike has actually made land fall...it makes me mad that the government doesn't stop the gas and oil companies from gouging the country every time mother nature kicks her heals up. Consider the profits they are making from this storm even if it's 10 on a gallon they evacuated millions of people out of the storms path they all had to have gas not to mention the rescue people oh they are laughing all the way to the bank on the backs of suffering americans. This is just so wrong. After katrina they busted all the little guys gas stations that raised thier prices but they let the big oil companies do what ever they want.

This stuff about Ike boosting gas prices is a bunch of bunk. The oil companies are just using Ike to raise the price and stick it to the people again. They said this morning the wind was 90 MPH where Ike came onshore This won't damage the refineries or the platforms out in the Gulf. Maybe break a few windows but no serious damage that would effect the price of gasoline. I don't know how much longer the American People are going to set on their hands and let these jerks get away with all this crap.
