I don't really like rap, or I should say don't listen to it much, but I do agree with you. Tupac was really good during his time. I felt it was the only rap I could really dance to.......

Its funny a buddy and I just had a huge conversation about tupac the other night and what it would be like if he was still here rappin... I do think he is still one of the best rappers out there by far and just think if he was here and able to colaborate with some of the rappers now.

My son in law thinks he is the greatest. That he is the original rapper and know one can replace him. Me, I don't care for rap but, he was ahead of his time. God Bless

For the most part the majority of his music is "dated" and fairly boring and repetitive with that message and image that made him interesting...he has hits yes...he has awesome songs yes...he had a special magical personality yes...but then he also has some cds that are just full of songs about sitting in hot tubs with hoochies and picing his nose or something...meh...I think Tupac is cool...but was never my favorite "rapper" per-say

Most would argue that the R is the best. It is hard to disagree. Smooth is the first word that comes to mind when i think of Rakim. The R could fart into the microphone and he?d make it Art. Rakim was i believe the first major Hip Hop Artist to introduce the belief that the Blackman is the Original Man. Theres no end to his Genius. . When Paid in Full came out, we got a full-course meal and then some.
So no doubt he was the bestthere were alot of 2nd bests among whom tupac is the foremost,Prolly if he were alive longer he myt have been better ......but he wasnt:( RIP

I don't really know who he was except that he caused a lot of trouble a while back. I guess its because my tastes in music are not in that genre, and I don't even get into the backgrounds of the music I listen to much.
When I hear music, it is about the music to me not about who makes it. Very rarely will I find an artist who consistently makes music I like, enough to the point that I might research who the person is.

I like most of his music he is a great rapper but he runs a very tight race with eminem, snoop dog,and ll cool J,they are good rappers and I hope they have a very sucessful run at it but you also need to listen to other types of music so that you ar equal in the knowledge music isn't all about killing and all bad things there are songs based on real life expirences

I like him alot and if you really listen to the words in his songs it gives you a certain respect for him. Some people say he makes no sense because he wrote songs about being against violence, etc and on the same CD a song about shooting someone. If you grew up in his world you would know that the majority of the people don't want to lead lives like that (poor, gang bangin, etc.) but that is what they are givin to deal with.I guess some people have to have lived in poor neighborhoods to understand him and know where he is coming from
