Help! I need to make some money and quickly!

September 13, 2008 12:10pm CST
Hi there. As you can all see I am very new to this site. I came across it purely by accident and have just signed up today. I'm trying to make some money to help pay off some debts. My husband recently lost his job which was a pretty well paid one. Thankfully he has managed to get another job, but the pay is 75% less than he was getting. And his transport costs are eating up about 90% of his weekly wages. All this means that they financial responsiblities that we could easily afford in his previous job are now so far out of our reach that we are very afraid of the future. I already write reviews on the internet and take surveys, but unfortunately these sites don't pay very much and it takes ages to actually make a decent amount of money. I would go out and get a part time job myself but I have a disability and the childcare costs would take up all of my wages. I have advertised myself on gumtree as looking for typing, administration and proofreading work that I can do from home. I have a good education and don't want to waste it but don't want to get scammed with all those "pay $50 and you can make thousands in a week" get rich quick schemes, as they only make one person rich and it would not be me lol. Does anyone out there know of some way that I could work online and earn around $1500 to $2000 a month? This would pay for my debts and hopefully a little extra for us to help pay the monthly bills as well, which would leave us feelinga little better about our situation. I would really appreciate any help that anyone here can offer. Thank you

First off, welcome to Mylot. You will make far more friends here than you will dollars but that is the charm of this site. Oh yes, I might add that Mylot does pay; automatically; every month! Now you will have gathered by now that what you ask is almost impossible and certainly not possible by joining free sites. There you will earn but only pennies per day. In my view, there is only one area that fits your case and that is trading in foreign exchange markets or Forex as it is called. It requires a sizeable outlay to start with and intense concentration while you have money laid out. It really meeds you to do some 'homework' to see how it works and to learn the terminology. You can start with $100, like I did, but it is much better to start with $2,000 as that amount absorbs some losses on the way - and you will get some losses. You trade with 'leverage', that is, your account holder allows you to buy/sell currency ten or twenty times the amount you put in your account. So you read the financial sections of the paper; you have a news tickertape window on your monitor; you check your financial diary to see when government statements on the economy are due to be released. In other words you prepare yourself! Then you make a trade on a pair of currencies, like the US$ against the Euro, and watch the current trading figures move every 10 seconds!. Yes, it is a very volatile market place with thousands of people the world over sitting at computers just like you. Hit it just right and you can double your money in an hour by getting into sync with the rise and fall of the market. This is because you can make money when your currency rises and when it falls by selling 'long' or 'short'. I can only do it for about an hour at a time because it requires such concentration but I can make a few hundred dollars in that hour on a good session. But you can win and loose and the trick is not to be too greedy and take a profit and on the other hand, be brave enough to take an early loss. Final bit of advice - never put in more than you can afford to loose.

Thank you for the welcome! Thanks for the advice, but Forex is not something I would be looking at. If I had the money to invest in that, I would use it to pay off what I owe first! But thank you anyway x

To earn some fast money you may try selling some unneeded or unwanted items online or in a garage sell. Otherwise you will have work 40 plus hours per week to make as much money online that you need to make. There are plenty of opportunities but you have to be willing to spend a lot of time on them all. May I suggest using coupons and taking advantage of rebate offers? These won't make you money but will sure save you some. The rebate checks tend to come in handy as well.

opps... i dont think that much money is that easy to earn through the internet. there are scam sites that promises you to earn that much, but in truth, they dont pay anything, so be careful. i get around 60 dollars all from different sites everymonth..not much but i get to enjoy the sites that i am joining and the money was accumulated with my spare time that i spend infront of the computer.. i am just happy!

I don't really know of any sites that you could make that sort of money on. I would not trust any site that expects payment to work for them. You say you have typing skills. Have you checked in your area? Some businesses are very willing to pay someone to do computer work from home. Many are data entry jobs. I have also found that many people that own their own business such as carpenters, plumbers etc. are always on the lookout for someone to keep track of their books on line. Babysitting a child or two is also another way to make some pretty decent money from home. I would keep it local if I were you. And I definitly would not risk investing money in something that just sounds good on-line. there are way too many scams out there.

Have you tried telecommuting agencies? I think these have you working for real companies. You have to pay for their service then they give you job listings for which you apply. There are all kinds of job opportunities on them. Other than that, I don't know of anything, and I don't think this will get you what you want so quickly as you want it.

Hi! I will make one thing very clear to you. It is not a simple job for you to earn so many thousands and thousands in few days time. The best thing I would like to tell you is "join some good websites which you believe will pay and concentrate more on them". Enrolling in everything and losing money just like tat with a lot of time is just not worth it. Sign up few sites and do those works perfectly. If not try working for certain sites initially and so you will be able to identify between scam sites and the sites that really pay.. Hope this helps:)

there are ways you can earn $1500 but for that you need to work very hard. I see you know typing, admin work and prof reading. You can join freelance websites and bid for the job you think you can do. Joining more than 1 will give you more opprotunity to earn. These sites need a registration fees. But you need to research before joining freelance. I know some which really provide jobs, if you need i can list them out to you in a message. Another thing is you can start a blog. This blog will need investment as well coz you need to buy a domain and host it with a website. I bought a website a year ago and now i am earning $200 every week. People more experienced are making minimum of $5000 with blog. Ofcourse the blog are very popluar. You have to work at multiple places as 1 website is not good enough to give $1500 per month intially. One thing is sure it will take time to earn $1500 a month. But it is quite achievable.

The best way is to sell something. A friend of mine told me very many years ago that the easiest money is in selling something. If you can cook you can cook food to sell. Twenty lunches at $ 20.00 is $ 400.00 dollars a day. Some people I know frequent gargage sales and buy items, fix them if necessary and sell. Or you can but little items like pens, cosmetics, toys or other small stuff and sell to small shops who might order more than an individual. Just remember, if you sell something, someone is giving you a profit.

everyone needs money, but money is hard to find. If you want to have unlimited income , i would suggest to have a business of your own. Selling is the best way to have a lots of money. Just start in a small business that is fast moving like food or things that people needs it daily so you can sell fast and get back the money you spend with profit ofcourse. but it require a lot of hard work, dedication, time and effort to do so. if you have all of this abilities, it can work it out. I hope you get my point.
