First name, middle name, last name. Most people have all three, are middle names still common practice do people still give there children middle names. I have seen some names that are long, very long, I have seen names that are unpronounceable, I have seen and heard names that I felt like the child would have to be in high school before they learn to spell it. I have a middle name it is Ann. I very seldom use it. Do you have a middle name and do you use if often?

I have a middle name, it is Rae... I dont use it a lot but my family does - they are always saying my first and middle name together "Summer Rae" lol my friends mom always says them together, I dont think she has ever just called me Summer lol... she says it sounds like a country singers name... The only time I really use a middle name when I am talking to someone is when they know they really made me angry or I am trying to get their attention - like my son for example lol

My family members call me by my first and middle name together, but I don't prefer it that way. I prefer to be called by my first name, but the reason they use both is because my mom and I have the same first name. My middle name is Lynn and as you can see, it's what I've chosen to use as part of my name on here. I like it okay I suppose. When I was younger though, I used to fantasize that my name was much more grandiose. Like instead of Lynn, it should be Lynette...lol...yeah, I know, I was a silly little gal.

I don't think that is silly, I have seen a lot of people fantasize that way.

I do have a middle name it is Lorraine . I never use it though as I have no reason to unless I am filling out a paper or form that request my middle name . My middle name was named after my dad whose name is Lorne . My children all have middle names but we gave them two middle names each as their father has two middle names as well . It makes for a long name when you take into account that they have a first name and a last name and our last name is long but they like it because it is different as most only have one middle name . I only learned this after I named my children but years ago it was said the poorer a person was the more middle names a child would be given . It was the one thing they could give thier child that would not cost a lot of money .

I don't think that is true, about being poor. Just a phrase that was passed down through generations.

My story is pretty wild. I DO have a middle name and it's Beth. For years my mother and I didn't think I had a middle name and the reason is is because when I was born, my mother had dry birth having me which is very very painful according to her and the doctors. It broke my nose and gave me two black eyes. Hours later when my mom woke up after having me, the nurse handed me to her and she said I was ugly and that it wasn't her child!! lol The nurse scolded her for her comments and still, she said I was ugly. lol Gee thanks mom!! I love you too!! lol The next day the nurse wanted to know what she wanted to name me and mom told her Mary Beth and she said that she couldn't name me Mary Beth, it had to be Mary Elizabeth. Mom told her that she didn't want Mary Elizabeth but Mary Beth. The nurse argued with her about it again and mom screamed "I can name her @sshole if I want! She's MY child!!" (Gee thanks mom!! Hi! My name is @sshole, what's yours?) The nurse wrote my name down in a huff and flew out of her room! Mom saw it as Marybeth and not Mary Beth like she wanted but she let it go all these years and thought my name was Marybeth and that I didn't have a middle name till I was 16 and asked for my birth certificate and learned that my name was done up just as she wanted it, Mary Beth. She and I both were really surprised but happy!! A few years later I had a half t-shirt, basically a cut off and I had my initials put on the shoulder. My brother happened to be at the same place that I was and asked what the "B" stood for and I told him, with a duh attitude and he said I didn't have a middle name and I showed him that Beth IS my middle name and he said he knows me by Marybeth and always will. I told him that I didn't care because that's the way it's always been but for a legal document, I have to sign it the way my birth certificate says but I don't care how he addresses me. Besides, I don't think I'd answer to just the name Mary when I've been called Mary Beth all of my life.

My middle name is Victoria I rarely use it my first name is Amber. I have two sons and they have two middle names a piece my daughter has one middle name. The reason I named the boys with two was because I have two brothers and my husband has 1 brother.

The middle name on my birth certificate is Lynette. I never used it (my mom did when I was young and in trouble :-) but used my middle initial often. When I married my ex and I disagreed (should have known then) about my keeping my own last name so I dropped my middle name, but kept the initial and used my maiden name and his last name when I wrote my full name. Then when we divorced, I dropped his name but never did put my middle name back on. So legally at the moment my middle name is just the initial L. Sorry you asked???? :-)

My middle name is Mia. I like it. But don't use it as the name I'm referred to. I use my first name. But my grandmother and my other relatives in China calls me Mia, since it's easier for them to say then Therese (because of the 'r'). And I write M sometimes when I write my whole name. But as I've got two last names I use them. Ie. Therese M W H (Therese W H/Therese WH)

My middle name is Marie, i use it sparingly. Only time my parents blurted out my middle name was when i was in trouble..hehe Some people hate their middle names (like my boyfriend) but mine doesn't bother me.

I only have my first and last time. Having a middle name is pretty cool, so far as I am concerned. If I have a middle name, I won't hesitate to use it.

I do have a middle name, it's Sue. I only usually use my middle initial, though. Not that I don't like my middle name, I just don't care to use it.

I have first name, second name, and third name and last name. My second name is Lukas and third name is Pio, well I use my second name, on my driving license or something like that is always my first and second name, so I use it for formal things. My third name I don't use it at all, maybe someday it will be helpfull.

My middle name is D'Juan. I love my middle name but I don't ever use it unless I'm instructed to. I'm trying to get into acting and I would prefer to go by my middle name than my first name because it's different. My first name is Joshua. I feel now somes parents name their kids anything. For example, my uncle and his wife adopted a boy who happens to have two last names. But he's missing a middle name. It looks funny everyme I see his name because it looks like a law firm and it looks incomplete and they don't think he have a middle name.
